Zigzag

Hello all!

I'm working on a part that uses a zigzag(scallop), but the machine (5axis Motion Master) I'm running it on is limited on the C axis (0-360). As such is there a way I can control where the zigzag occurs?

I'm hoping to move the zigzag from the front of the part to the back of the part.

I'm relatively new to Mastercam(X8, X9, and MC4SW[for solidworks]), and the CamInstructor is quite lackluster when it comes to 4/5axis training.

So far the part is Scalloped(zigzag) followed with a convert to 5 axis for collision control.

Many thanks,

Wukits, C.J.

Most Mastercam 5X posts have the ability to control the initial axis angles when starting a toolpth

Check out the Mics intergers in your tool path and look at your posted codes

Say your toolpath  is started with an A- C (whatever) location.

By using the Mics intergers, you can force the toolpath to start at A+ and C (whatever +180°)

In this condition the machine may have the travel to complete the toolpath without retracting and unwinding
