Hi All,

im wanting to try mpmaster along with the relavent control and machine def files..

but i cant get  it to stay when i exit mastercam..

x5 by the way

Any help would be appreciated

Have you gone through the machine definition to the control definition using settings at the top of the menu bar to set the post and you are telling us the proven process for almost a decade is not working in X5? Strange.

Sorry Paul let me word is differently. Have you tired to open up the machine definition manager using settings from the top drop down. Then inside of the machine definition manager have you tried to open up the control definition that is associated with the machine definition that you have open. Inside of the control definition there is the ability to pick the post associated to the control definition. When it is set you should have the post associated to it. Make sure you save it and close it and then make sure you save the machine definition and close it. The active Mastercam file even if it has nothing for toolpath it will ask do you want to update using the active machine definition. Now that should keep everything associated to the Machine and Control definition from that point forward.

 

There is a machine and control definition PDF that covers all of this. Sorry your company is not current with the software and cutting your ability to improve your craft. That is also hurting their ability to be more profitable by staying current. If they were current you could go to the official Mastercam website that has all of the the PDF and tutorials for download that cover all of what I just talked about.
