Repeat chaining for new toolpaths

Hey guys,

 

Now, I may just be missing something obvious here, but is it possible to copy a chain from the geometry manager into another toolpath? I have some chamfer operations that take place down my group that can use the same chains I previously selected up near the top, and I find myself thinking "There has to be a better way". Essentially, I want the functionality of the "Last" button with the ability to open up the chain manager for a different toolpath and select the ones I want to bring in. Is this possible? Because if it is, I cant figure out how.

Click on the geometry manager from the op you want and drag it to the new op's geometry manager. Usually I just copy the whole op and change the tool/depths.

Just copy the toolpath and change the toolpath type and tool to chamfer

^^ I also do just that for c/drill,  drill, taps, and circle mill. just cut and past and change what needs to be changed.

Same, Same, and Same here works like a charm . I'll even save all my operations then import them to new models to be programmed. All the tools I need in the order I need them (tool numbers too). Just need to re chain put in the new linking settings (clear values and depths)  and away you go.

^^ also in the tool comments i write the notes so all i have to do is remove 1 or 2 words to make the note still work like   c/drill for 1/2-13   then take off what does not apply and less typing involved  ie       spot drill for tap .. drill for tap,  tap etc etc
