HPI Pioneer toolholders

There's been a lot of traffic on the subject of holders lately so I thought I'd chime in with a good word for HPI Pioneer.

We've been ordering a lot of them lately and the technical support and updates to their .dwg files have been outstanding.

Their drawings are spot on, a lot more accurate than commands.

If the drawing is not there, Lee from HPI  will update it by the time I receive it. Outstanding service.

Their holders are decent, but like any cheap holder, check the ID tapers for the collets, about 5-10% of the holders we get from HPI or Techniks have areas where the grinding didn't clean up on the tapers, so there is more than their rated runout. The inspection reports always say they are mint though

I've been using Pioneer holders for about 10 years.

Haven't had an issue at all, my only grip is that they don't offer a Big Plus style.

We likely have some where near 1,000 Techniks holders on the floor....nary an issue with any of them from what I have seen

The same here for HPI. Running up to 20k rpm now.

I'm not discounting any of the other holders here. Just stating that I've experienced a very good service and support from HPI.

Well if you don't inspect every holder you'll never find any problems

 

We usually just keep the ones with the lousy tapers for holding taps.
