Rotary table

We just did this with our Haas rotary...it was fun and it worked out great. The light gray is the part we made, and the rest is the table we made for the job. I can already see that nice table being used for more fun stuff. Thought someone might like to use this same idea. I would like to also make a "tombstone" of sorts and put some light vices on it.

Do you not have to home out your rotary table?

 

Or is it on a riser that's not shown or something?

 

We do similar things with ours, but they need to be able to rotate through 360 for safety so they can't be destroyed by operators that don't know any better..

We didn't have it on risers....so extreme caution was used for home....A0 had it almost touching the table. There is a company called Stallion that makes these tables specifically for the Haas, but sadly was not in the budget.

CHICK has a similar set-up for 4th axis set-up , you can choose a model based on your machine .

It's a Haas HRT210. 6" to centerline, 8" chuck.

my Haas rotary has the A2-6 lathe interface. I like centering on taper function but it is a bit of work making adapters.

theoretically i could swap fixture between mill and lathe that also has A2-6.
