surface finish

Does the machine have the high speed machining option? No toolpath will give good results if it doesn't.

I disagree a little bit... One can still get good results just slower.

I'd probably plunge rough that with a .5in ball, as long as you don't go to depth you'll still have stck. Less towards the mouth and more at the very bottom but it will be as perfectly spherical as possible and rough in seconds. Then you have a little extra time to put in your finish. In finish I would run 0.0005 to 0.001 stepover for a ball that small.

I think a lil credit should go to the control. I have a friend that runs Makinos. I guess they have that Gi High speed parameter (runs like a switch, on and off). Most controls in HST can smooth.

If its super critical you might consider tilting it. tangent ball get it off the center.

If the model is clean these new HST are getting fairly efficient in control like Climbing (I would'nt parallel back and fourth) if it's that critical.

Never seen this software but looks clean.
