Doosan hp 400 II

Anybody have any opinions or experience on this machine. Currently are an all Enshu shop but the price is cheap which makes me a little leery.

Doosans are generally considered to be good iron for the $

IMHO, Doosan have good value and are a bit more rugged than the comparable priced American made machines (that now have a F1 team) In addition the Doosan has Fanuc controls that most people are familiar with. Furthermore, with Ellison Technologies the distributor now it will be hard to find better support of your new machine tool. Doosan isn't on a Mori or Okuma level but pretty close for a lot less money.

Let me preface this by saying I work for Doosan. That said, I have a personal opinion and that is that Doosans are greatly under rated. In my 40 years I have run many different brands and our machines can withstand an aweful lot. They are accurate and very sturdy machines. Your HP400II is a great machine. And of course you can find me here for any help you need in addition to your reseller.

Dunno about that model but I can as well say that Doosan (PUMA) lathes are good machines - been working with a 250, 350, 400 (current) and a 700 - all of them solid performers.
