Toolpath -> Contour -> *POOF*

I clicked Toolpath -> Contour

 

Then *POOF*, 2017 shut down.

 

Then the attached dialog popped up.

 

Anyone encountered this Compatilbity Assistant before? I've never seen this before at all.

Windows 7. I've noticed it flashes a Tool Manager error, though it happens randomly (ie, I can't easily reproduce the error)

 

Right now, X9 is more stable than 2017 to me..

I think this is due to one of the Visual C+++ installs being out of date

The install is supposed to check and fix any missing or out of date C++++ stuff.

I've always used the full download instead of the web install.

maybe that's why I've never had this trouble

Try making sure your machine def and File settings are linked to a 2017 tool library

 

If you are linked to an X9 library, it will try to convert it to 2017 on the fly and an old

incorrect custom tool may be causing a failure.

 

I think this is why some people complain about Tool Manager taking a long time to open

I used the full download (ISO) to install. Like you, I always do.

 

Also, the machine definition was set to a 2017 Tool Library. I always update this when I update the machine/control definitions.

 

It is a tough one to resolve, as I can't seem to be able to replicate it.
