ThreadMilling Problem

Happy New Year everyone. Im trying to threadmill but the code spits out as small linear moves and the thread seems to be faceted and not smooth. Is there a way to smooth out the thead and perhaps shorten the code as well. Thanks

There are two things that can cause this

 

Open your Control Def, go to the Arcs page and make sure Helix output is enabled

 

also

 

on the bottom of the Cut Parameters page in the Thread Mill Cycle, make sure the

 

"Linearize Helixes" box is NOT checked

I checked both these issues but still have the same problem. The code doesn't show any arc moves at all but only linear in three axis.

how old is your post ..

older posts do not respect the Control Def

Helix output is enabled by switches at the start of the post

OK... so I saved and restarted MC and now it seems the problem is fixed. Much thanks and appreciation.
