2D multi chain. Keep tool down with retract only at the first and last chain.

I'm running stacked multi part Carbon fiber job that has many slots through it. On each slot it needs to be finished on both sides to hold a press fit tolerance. I would like to keep the tool down after doing one side of the slot to do the other side. It is only a .03 move in X. I could just hand edit it but there are many slots in each part and they are never the same from part# to part#.

This is something I have been wanting since day one using mcam.  It worked in other softwares that I used.

Set Retract, Top of Stock, and Depth to '0.0' Incremental. (Make sure your chain is at the correct depth where you want to cut.)

 

Then, use the 'Reference Points' to give you an Approach and Retract Points for First/Last positions. It will do exactly what you are after...

Colin, what 'chain' are you talking about?  The containment chain?  I'm confused!
