Hello All,

 

I have question ,I want to make some change in my Generic Fanuc  4x   in  Mx code expert .I save copy pst.file in my folder .When I want  repost my toolpath  with my copy pst.file  mastercam  can not see it  .

 

 

haw I can use the copy pst.file ???

Sounds like you need to go into your machine definition and re-attach your post. So do you have an original post, and you then made a copy that you edited?

Is the editor saving it with a different extension and you are not seeing it because extensions are turned off on your computer?

I can see there is still pst.file but mx not see them

IT should be name of post.pst  and nothing past the .pst what you keep putting up is pst.file which is not a correct extension. If should be hass.pst or Generic3Ax.pst what you keep putting up is Hasspst.file which will not work.

 

Put up the complete file name in a screen shot.

Like I said we cannot see your extensions. You need to see your extension and you cannot.

Was there a .psb originally with post your started with? If so the .psb name must match the .pst name. I still don't see extensions and until you can see extensions and the .psb is not your issue I can't do any more to help you.

So.....did you go to Machine Definition and from there to Control Definition and add the copied post processor to the list of post processors available?

yes ,and  the test one looks the same extension but I can not use them

  I do not see any option ,I do this a few times on previous version ,but i dont now haw fix this in mcx 2017

Make a .z2g and include the post and send to your reseller is about the only thing I can tell you.

Do not open Machine Definition from project properties. This opens a local copy. You need to work with the global machine definition: open Mastercam (do not open any file), select Machine Definition, click the folder icon and choose the machine you want to add the post to.

 

It hasn't changed in 2017 so same steps apply as in previous versions:

a. Open Control Definition from the Machine Definition dialog

b. Click "Post processors" that lets you add post processors. Add the "Generic Fanuc 4X Mill test" post processor.

c. Choose the "Generic Fanuc 4X Mill test" post processor from the drop-down list. Be aware that each post processor in the list has its own control definition settings. To apply "Generic Fanuc 4X Mill" control definition settings to the new "Generic Fanuc 4X Mill test" post processor, right click somewhere in the window area until a pop-up menu comes up with an "Import" option. Choose Import->All pages and choose "Generic Fanuc 4X mill".

d. Save

e. Click OK. Now you can choose the new post processor from the Machine Definition post processor combo box.
