ot/ internet radio stations

Good evening my friends....

I was just wondering if any of you use the internet to tune in to any good radio stations.

I downloaded a free version of reel player today and now I just have to find some good places for music.

 

I am preferably looking for rock stations.

I guess some of them want you to pay to listen.

(I am looking for FREE places.

This is all new to me,and I'm not too hip on finding these sites.

Right now I am stuck having to listen to "clasical music" from my (2) other co-workers,and it puts me to sleep!

 

Any help would be much apreciated.

Since I'm a Nullsoft fan, I like the selection at Shoutcast. Winamp 5.x has a built-in Shoutcast browser, which is nice. KEXP from Seattle and "IndiePopRocks" at SomaFM from San Fancisco are my fave Shoutcast stations.

 

Apart from Shoutcast stations, The Edge sometimes plays decent tunes (mostly crap commercial alternative and new rock), but the highlights are its morning show and the "History of New Music with Allan Cross". When rawking isn't in order, CBC Radio 1 makes me feel cultured and Mojo makes me laugh.

It's KNAC Heavy rock for me. Comes in about as clear as I've heard.

KNAC is probably the best, but not for a dial up, at least not here.

There was a Ska station on Shoutcast I was listening to but I found I had all the records they played. Got kinda repetative.
