Smallest recomended probe for omp 600?

It came with a 6mm ball we had a 2 mm probe from our other machine and I tried it out.

 

I calibrates fine and seems to perform ok. I slowed down the feed in the settings program just to be safe.

I run between a 2-6mm depending on the application. I've never had any issues with calibration on the smaller 2mm stylus' and wouldn't expect to have any so long as you are buying quality stylus'.

I have gone to a 1mm stylus to check shallow pockets. Repeatability was not as good compared to a larger stylus(6mm), but it worked. The OMP400 on the machine would float +/-.0002, while the CMM would have consistent results checking the same features. I played with the feedrates, but it had no noticeable effect.
