Makinos fanuc controls. Maybe I don't need them but they work with them in there. I'm pretty sure you need the placement of brackets in the right place.

Standard Fanuc and  Haas controls is where I have used them. They are mainly for calculations after the IF [ ] statement.

no worries, i have never seen a THEN statement documented anywhere in Macro B documentation, even when i went to Makino's macro class, I am definitely going to try it now. Thanks for the ideas.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I have been writing my own custom macro B canned cycles for several years now and just love the stuff.

I did a quick review in both the Smit and Sinha books last night and they both talk about IF__THEN and WHILE functions in the loop sections. But you have to search a little, its not as well indexed as the IF , GOTO, GT etc......

Man this is the core of how I use macros.

The Sinha book is imo the best reference available.  Get it on Amazon for a great price.

Totally agree, the Sinha book is more comprehensive and better laid out, at least to my eye/brain. Having said that they are both written in completely different styles so I think it is worth having both for more complicated topics.
