Rotary 4 axis

Good day my fellow grammers!

I have uploaded a file to the ftp site in the mc9 folder called oval.zip

I am having trouble with the rotary 4 axis toolpath, I am new at the 4 axis game, so I really don't have a clue what I am doing, or why it is looking so horrible. If anyone can check it out and give me some pointers, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. headscratch.gif

Well if I understnad it correctly you are trying to surface the whole area ebtween the ovals. I would use the filter and do it one way. I don't think this toolpath is the most effective for what you are trying to do. I might look at 5axflow doing it as a 4th axis toolpath. Note: All 5 axis toolapths can be used on a 4th axis machine just tell them 4th axis. I think this toolpath might give you the best results still going to play and see what I come up with.

If all the details are the same, I would model only ONE detail, and call that as a sub from the main. The main would just be a pattern of points, in the flat, using axis substitution in the toolpath. Make the toolpath for the bevels in the flat or 3d, using ROLLDIE. (Again, only one oval gets a toolpath.)

How do you intend to get in between the ovals? The gap is pretty small.
