spline break many

Hi friends,

I've been struggling with smoothing out my geometry, whenever I go to break a spline into arcs by tolerance the new curve is much further off the old curve than the tolerance should allow.

When I do it with the break into lines option it breaks it along the curve, but I am unable to change the tolerance this way.

I've tried it both before and after I've refit the spline, both with the same result.

Could someone look at this and show me a way to break it into arcs?

Also I've not been able to see a clear result from the 'simplify spline' feature if someone could provide a reason why this might not be working?

Go into Files/ System Cofing/Tolerance page

Set Curve Chordal Deviation to .0002" or .005mm if you are running metric.

Set 2D/3D to what you want and

try Break Many (arcs) again  setting  the tolerance to .0002 ( or .005mm)

It doesn't look like you're going to be able to break some of this spline geom into arcs due to the utility either reporting a planes error or if the spline is broken down into smaller pieces it wants to project the arcs. The only method the break many will allow is is breaking it into line segments. Simplify spline is not going to work with this geom due to the spline curve being a non-uniform B spline.
