You can have a dwell with a G83 peck drill command? What control is it?

I see your point Mike, The G83 should already call up a dwell.... but the control wont dwell on the G83.

It is a HAAS control, one of the new ones.

Here is my pdrill and ppeck. Pdrill has dwell in it already:

pdrill #Canned Drill Cycle

pdrlcommonb

pcan1, pbld, n, *sgdrlref, *sgdrill, pfxout, pfyout, pfzout, pcout,

prdrlout, dwell, *feed, strcantext, e

pcom_movea

ppeck #Canned Peck Drill Cycle

pdrlcommonb

pcan1, pbld, n, *sgdrlref, *sgdrill, pfxout, pfyout, pfzout, pcout,

prdrlout, *peck1, *feed, strcantext, e

pcom_movea

Should my ppeck also have a dwell command in there?

I don't think so because I only want the dwell on the very last peck. But I am post processor challanged rolleyes.gif

Ahh I just saw the last of your post, you gave me the answer....DOH!!!

murlin,

are you looking for a G4Pxx after the drilling but before the G80?

if so,

code:

pcanceldc       #Cancel canned drill cycle

result = newfs (three, zinc)

z = initht

if cuttype = one, prv_zia = initht + (rotdia/two)

else, prv_zia = initht

pxyzcout

!zabs, !zinc

prv_gcode = zero

pcan

if drillcyc = 1 & dwell > 0, pbld, n, "G04", *dwell, e

pcan1, pbld, n, "G80", strcantext, e

pcan2

I'm not sure Steve, it pecked just fine without the G4 with just a G83 & P2000.

G99 G83 X-15.063 Y14.5 Z-.45 R.5 Q.1 F24.448

Y12.5 P2000

The hole at y12.5 and all the ones after that pecked and dwelled on the last peck like it was suppose to.

But the first hole at X-15.063,Y14.5 didn't dwell, it just pecked. It seems to me it should have also dwelled, because the G83 is suppose to be a peck with dwell.

Thad,

I am not that familiar with these controls.

I guess I will just have to experiment tomarrow

with the suggestions you all have provided.

Thanks guys..

Well it really didnt dwell on the first hole. The post notes said that G83 was a peck with dwell. So that is all I was going on.

The control didn't dwell until the P2000 was on the line with the second hole.

I am new to these drilling cycles.....

I am thinking the only way to get it to work the way I want it to is to either do the first hole twice, or add a dummy hole off the workpiece for the first hole smile.gif

Mike, I didn't think a Fadal could dwell on a G83. The P word is already assigned as the "peck clearance." I would be surprised if you could throw in a G4 PXXX and get it to work. Let me know what you find out.

Murlin, what happens if you put the P2000 on the G83 line? It seems that should work based on what you're telling us.
