Stock not sticking (reply sort of)

I was just using the HSS waterline and found out what may be the issue.

If you type in a stock to leave in the XY field and mouse click to your next parameter and then go back... the field has changed.

But if you type in the field stock to leave and hit the enter key it duplicates that value to stock to leave in Z. And then it sticks.

I found this by accident because I didn't want stock left in Z. I went back to that page and typed in the z value at zero and clicked another page. By happenstance I ended up back and found my Z value was back to the original duplicate.

You HAVE to hit enter to make it stick. Could this have been the issue you were having?

Bill, the issue most of us are having are different than your description. The stock to leave boxes magically change to .05. I noticed they can do it during crunching. You can crunch several toolpaths, think your good to go, but when you verify or machine the part, the cutter isn't touching the steel. Go back and look at your toolpaths and all the values have changed to .05.

When I import an entire tool path group, I have no reason to

Change any values just reselect geo and

Same when I copy a tool path group to another machine

Here are 5 circumstances where it happens to me

-open a file, existing paths change with doing anything at all

-copied paths after regen

-imported path after regen

-change values (other then stock to leave/regen)

-new paths during or after generation, not sure exactly when
