  1. Hi Mark, We've had pretty good succes with Kennametal CNMS-432 KC5410. On my Okuma I rough at 1800SFM, up to 0.2" D.O.C. and 0.012 - 0.015" / rev feed. Peals the stuff off really well. You can download a .pdf version of the Kennametal Lathe Tooling cataloge for free, just did that myself an hour ago. Here's a link. http://www.kennametal.com/en/pdf_library/p...?botnav=turning Hope this helps.
  2. Oops, Line N1975 M215 should read NLB75 M215
  3. David, I run this on a U10L as a bar puller control, but it should work with modification for your app. The V5 toggle is handy. If you need to stop before the end of the run just set V5 to 1 in the Common Variables page. The program will then drop out at the end of the current loop. Set V5 back to 0 for continuous run. $PROGRAM NAME% (ALL OTHER STUFF) (V1 = PARTS PER BAR) (V2 = TOTAL PARTS MADE) (V5 = INTERRUPT TOGGLE) NLB01 (START OF CYCLE TO REPEAT) . . . N#### (END OF CYCLE TO REPEAT) N1955 V1 = V1 - 1 N1960 V2 = V2 + 1 N1965 IF [V2 GE ___] GOTO NLB75 N1966 IF [V5 EQ 1] GOTO NLB75 N1970 IF [V1 GT 0] GOTO NLB01 N1975 M215 N1980 M02 %
  4. Gerard I asked a similar question last week. Here is a link to the post and the answers I got. http://www.emastercam.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...ic;f=1;t=019429
  5. Thanks Pete, I appreciate the prompt response. Looking forward to the fix. For the kind of work I do with Mastercam this will be very useful when it is working properly.
  6. Ok, I'll send a link to this post to qc. Thanks John.
  7. The Make Main Level Always Visible box is checked. And I do have the level named and there are entities on it. It just doesn't become visible when I select it from the status bar window and any new geometry I create disappears until I go into the level manager (Alt+z) and exit it again (green check mark).
  8. I really like the level selection box down on the status bar. But when I pick a level from the pop up menu it sets it as main level, but doesn't make it visible. Any geometry created after switching levels this way disappears until you go back to the level manager the traditional way and exit back out. Setting the level to visible while in the level manager is not necessary, just go in a out an the geometry shows up. Is this a bug or am I just missing something?sible?
  9. Thanks very much for the info and encouragement gentlmen. I'll give the .cvs files a try. After spending the night learning X I went back to V9.1 today for a bit but found I already like some of the features of X better. So, I'm slowly making the transition I guess. Kind of like molasses running up hill in January!
  10. So, does this mean the answer to my first question about a CNC "To Do" list is, no?
  11. Thanks, its all so easy when someone explains it.
  12. Jay, I was reading a post by Kathy, Member #39 from November, Topic: You can’t go back… And it is the ctrl-v in the level manager that doesn't work. BTW, how do I put a link in a post to a different thread?
  13. I readily admit most of my frustration comes from ignorance of the new interface. However doing a search for solutions to the latest "issue" I came across only took me to other frustrated users. For example, trying to set up the levels manager. In our situation I often end up drawing assemblies with multiple parts. To keep things straight I use levels extensively. I also like to group levels together for each part with a couple blank levels between for ease of finding things later. Such as level 1 Wire Frame, Level 2 Solid, Level 3 Title Block, Level 4 & 5 blank, Level 6 Wire frame for next part... I also use the ctrl-c & ctrl-v a lot. I found out tonight from a thread from Kathy, that the ctrl-c does work, just the ctrl-v doesn't. I also found out from that thread that right clicking the mouse brings up a paste option that does work. That's a start, but mouse clicking just isn't as fast as good co-ordination on a keyboard, IMHO. Of course I do expect a learning curve with new software, just didn't expect quite as steep a curve on software I'm quite familiar with already.
  14. Does anyone know if CNC has a list posted somewhere of the issues they are working on to correct bugs or make X easier to use? I've just spent most of my evening "trying to remain calm" while learning X - MR1 SP2. A posted list of things being worked on would help with that and will probably help prevent some "venting". Just a thought.
  15. Just testing this screen shot uploading thing.
  16. Thanks again John. Answers that work are a beautiful thing!
  17. Thanks John, I finally get it now. This will help a lot. How do you do the screen shots. I can get it pasted into my Paint program and save it as a file. How do you get it into this forum?
  18. Sorry, feeling really stupid here, but the options I get from right clicking in the RMB customization window are Add Drop Down Menu, Delete Drop Down Menu and Rename Drop Down Menu. I've tried this, but it starts a whole new menu which isn't visible when I just right click on a blank file wanting to start drawing. I'd send a screen shot, but haven't figured that out quite yet either. Thanks for you patience
  19. Thanks, that should help. Exactly how do I do that? There doesn't appear to be a "New Folder" option in the lists of the RMB Customization page.
  20. Does anyone know of a way to have the right mouse button menu display in 2 columns? Mine is getting quite full and having 2 colums side by side would require a bit less mouse movement. Otherwise I'm going to need a bigger mouse pad soon.
  21. I was hoping to avoid exposing my home PC to the entire network at work.
  22. Does anyone know if it is possible to load MCX on my computer at home and then access the nethasp at work to run the program? I have network access from home through Remote Desktop and have run MCX that way, but sending all that graphical info over the internet is very slow. I'm hoping it would all work faster if MCX was on my home machine and then only had to access my work network for nethasp permission. Thans for your help.
  23. I've tried scaling it but lose all the drafting. Any way to convert the drafting dimensions so I don't have to re-do all the dimensions on the drawing?
  24. I'm running Mastercam Lathe 8.1.1. Our customer sent us a .DXF file of a part in metric. Is there any easy way to convert it all to Imperial units? Thanks.
