I need help bad. A new employee used my computer last week and change setting on my Mastercam. I have got every thing back but one. I also backed up everything so this can’t happen again. This is the one I can’t seem to pin point is every time I pick a surface-hole-point-curve and so on the view goes back to top after I pick it. Exp. I rotate the view to see a hole better on my solid and after I pick a curve it jumps back to top view. This is driving me nuts.
I have a easy one. I’m sure that it can be done. I want to have the mc9 file name put in the top line of the posted file.

Yes but the cutter compensation changs from left to righ too. SO there is too steps for every operation. Reverse chain and then change compensation back to left. SO it will still climb cut. Just looking for a faster way. Maybe cut out one step per operation.
Still not working the way I would like. I still have to go into my parameter and chang back to a left cut (Climb cut). Anyone know how to save time mirroring a job. Can anyone help!!
Jeff,
Thanks I never used change side that works a lot better. It would be nice if there was a c-hook that mirrored and changed what side it cuts all In one shot!!
Hi, I spend most of my day making programs for shown and opposite parts. I program the shown part and then mirror the solid and reverse the chains and re-post it for the opposite part. My question is, can I get Mastercam not to change the cutter compensation from left to right. When you reverse the chain it changes the cutter comp left to right. I remember seeing something in one of the settings but I can’t find it. I would like to just reverse the chain and be done with it.
I tryed it and if it to a flat spot it went right to depth. So if there is 15mm on the casting it takes a full 15mm pass deep. Maybe I did not set something up right. What tells it how much stock is on the casting?

I tryed 3d contour and i can't get it to step down it wants to take all of the 15mm in one step. I need it to work down like a pocket rough would.I have 4 small mill that can only take about 1.5mm depth of cut with a 1" cutter.
Is there a place to put that there is 15mm of stock over the solid/surface?
I'm roughing 3d runoff on a cast trim steel for a line die. The castings are about 15mm heavy. And I have to rough them and finish the 3d trim edge. the trim edge is about 25mm wide. They are for final trim on something like car body side or fender.
Hi,
Im trying to rough a 3d casting. I would like some help on the best way to keep the tool on the steel. I can't seem to get anything to work the way I want it to. I don't have a book for mastercam and I'm just starting to use it for all my 3d jobs. In the past I used WorkNC for all my 3d.
