  1. James, I finally figured it out right before I read your post. You are right, it is a lot more jagged than I expected. Thanks for your help.
  2. So if it does read .bmp files, does anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong?
  3. I just downloaded the 30 day trial version of the raster to vector chook. The help file is complete except for the "how to use the program" section. I am trying to bring in a .bmp and when I get to the second screen, where you pick centerline or outline, I get no preview. I have tried scrolling around with the slides but nothing. It pretty much ends there, nothing comes into Mastercam. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
  4. Peter, that is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks to all for your help. This is a great resource.
  5. I do not seem to be able to modify the surface. I have little experience working with surfaces and all I have for reference is the Mill/Design Applications Guide. I guess it is time to study some more. Thanks for your patience.
  6. How can I break this surface? It was imported from Solidworks.
  7. Do you have to have the solids add on to be able to convert solids to surfaces. We are running Mill V8.1.1 and can not get in touch with our local reseller today. Thanks in advance.
  8. I have a part (actually a family of parts) that is killing me. I posted this part on the FTP site HID2.562. It is difficult for me to explain but here goes. I am using flowline to plunge out a constantly changing radius tapered wall(?). We have a solid of the finished part created in Solidworks. The raw material is bar stock with a hole in it. I am having trouble with the tool that is plunging not retracting high enough and gouging on certain sections. I am not sure I am even going about this in the proper manner and I would greatly appreciate someone looking at my stratagy and maybe help point me in the right direction. I am basically self taught and surfacing is new to me.
  9. You guys are GOOD. That worked. Thanks for the super fast response....Kevin
  10. Hello all. I have been following this board for several months and have learned a lot just watching from the sidelines. We have 2 seats Mill, 1 seat Lathe level 3 ver.8.1.1 and Solidworks. We just updated Solidwoks to 2001 Plus and now are having trouble bringing in models. I can bring in a model drawn from our older solidworks but if drawn in 2001 Plus it gives an Parasolid Kernel Interface Error, Check PSLDDATA Dir. Any ideas what I am doing wrong or missing? Thanks in advance.
