  1. M2 works fine. Rotary broaching does not generate much heat.
  2. We rotary broach hex in Ti often, no problem. Like most things in life, the end result is a product of preparation. Make sure everything is dialed in, on center, proper hole size with a lead in chamfer larger than the major od. Slater's feed and speed recommendations have worked well for us. Not that it matters much but lathe or mill?
  3. quote: We leave all of our parts in Aircraft coordinates Pardon my ignorance but what are Aircraft Coordinates?
  4. Thanks, that was exactly what I was looking for.
  5. Nevermind, I figured it out. It will not fix tools already selected before changing the defs. You must renumber the tool then it fills in the offset automatically. Thanks .
  6. Hello all. I am working on a X3 post for a Haas verticle 4 axis based on the MPmaster. I am not a post guy at all but I am getting close with your help from the seach function. I can not get it to post length and dia. offset the same as the tool #. Went to control def >tools > add to tool, length 0 dia 0. still outputting #'s from tool parameters. I also tried it from the machine def > edit control def > tools and so on but no change on the posted code. What am I overlooking? Thanks in advance....Kevin
  7. Yes, chain direction has been addressed. Local reseller could not get it going. I hand wrote it and moved on. I presently do not have the time but I would like to figure out what is wrong. Thanks again.
  8. Rough cycle. Tried comp, entry amount, lead in angles, plunge parameters.
  9. I am having a problem getting X3 lathe to rough bore from the chuck out to the face, Z minus to Z positive. Before I waste anymore time on this, can it be done in MC? If so, any idea what I am overlooking. Yea I know, it could be anything and everything but I have been programming lathes on MC for a few years and have tried everything I can think of. That being said I think it is a brainfart and I am missing somthing simple. Thanks in advance.
  10. I have not heard of a solution in Mastercam but I am not a poweruser post guru type. I higbee a lot of threads but I hand write em. I am sorry for the lack of help.
  11. John, in op default the max spindle for individual ops are greyed out unless I am missing something, which is very likely.
  12. How do you change the default values in X2 for fields like entry-exit length, lead in lead out length, stock recognition, etc. Thanks in advance....Kevin
  13. Thanks guys, Holeaxis looks like the hot setup for this application. I would have never known about it if it were not for this community. One man show here. Does Solid Drill toolpath work without the solids option? If so, I have not figured it out yet. Thanks again forum and thanks to Ernie at Verisurf for the chook.
  14. Thanks for the input. Seems like an lot of work just to get locations to drill though.
  15. Yep its a spline, makes sense now because it was a Solidworks file, I do not have solids option so I had to converts to surface to bring it in. So does that mean I will have to transform > simplify every hole detail?
  16. It should center but it is not. I turned everything off in autocurser but arc center and it still snaps to the edge.
  17. Hello all, I am new to X2 so I am struggling with the simple stuff. I have a solid model of a round part in mill on a rotary trying to drill a hole on centerline. Drill point selection menu - entity....I can not get it to select the CENTER. All I can get selected is the edge, midpoint everything but the center. I have tried for way to long, different features, whatever. Starting to feel like a fool. What am I doing wrong please? Thanks in advance....Kevin
  18. How about L1+L3+V ? Just a thought. Let us know if you find a difinitive answer.
  19. I second the packed chips between the table and the Z ways. I have seen that happen. Good luck....Kevin
  20. Gun drill if you have LOTS of thru coolant. Just a thought.
  21. Tim, I got the dia on the G43 line by adding *tloffno in the ptlchg_com section but it started putting out some other stuff as well like block deleted G28 G90 I do not remember exactly. Since I don't know what I am doing, I will leave it alone though I appreciate your help very much.
  22. Thank you Tim, remming out the force Dxx works great.
  23. I understand G43 is length comp but we never use a different dia. offset than our tool# or TLO. So, when the operator needs to change the tool# in the program he simply changes the Hxx Dxx on the G43line and does not have to chase down all the Dia. offsets as there can be quite a few.
  24. First off, I am post editing retarded. With that said, I am trying to teach myself to modify post as we are not on maintenance and will probably not update to X right away so I need to be a little more self sufficient. Our current post lacks a lot to be desired as they are V8 post and do not support a lot of stuff we should have been using years ago. I am trying to modify the MPMaster for Haas verticals. Mill level 3 V9.0 sp1. On to the first of many questions. Is it possible to output the tool diameter offset (Dxx) only once on the G43 line of an operation instead of on every cutter comp line (G02G03)? BTW, I cannot access the FTP at work due to firewall. Thanks in advance….Kevin
