  1. Cadcam, Must update my siggy, no longer have vericut. Verify isn't only the problem, when I run a surface finish scallops it takes longer than it does to verify.
  2. CNC you got anything to add here? Just purchased a brand new mastercam version X2 and the system is choking and the boss is pissed? I told him it was the PC and he said get the right one. Please don't set me up for a termination here, it's a new job and I'm counting on you! Dennis
  3. Had major issues or has major issues. You are reffering to the verify within mcam x2 correct?
  4. Hi all, I am looking for the ultimate PC to run X2 mill level 3 w solids. In the past (and currently) I have had a problem processing complex surface patterns and verifying them with anything but turbo mode is some less exciting than watching paint dry or grass grow, you get the picture. I have been given a chance to spec an ultimate pc (money no object) and want to get it right the first time. Any help will be appreciated. I'm thinking dual Zeon 8gig ram video? etc... Thanks Dennis
  5. Thank you for that Mike. Dennis
  6. Thanks for the responses. Can anyone define "blockdrill" Thanks Dennis
  7. Johnny, I mean Jimmy can you weigh in on this a little more in depth? Are there any other functions available in router that I will miss if I stay with Mill. Thanks Dennis
  8. Thanks for the response, Is that the only difference in the two products? Thanks Dennis
  9. Hi all, as some of you know, I am a long time mill-lathe guy and now have a router (thermwood 45) in my shop. My question is, should I stay with Mill or purchaser router. I think after reading some posts about router that it has some nesting options that mill may not. I had hoped to get some insight on the two from someone who has some real experience. Thanks in advance Dennis
  10. Thank you John, I will have to review it tomorrow. I'm sure I will have a couple of questions. Thanks Dennis
  11. Be nice if that were the only thing funky round here.
  12. And off to the second email add
  13. I sent it again in "reply" mode.
  14. John, you have more mail Thanks Dennis
  15. I sent it to the one at cncprogrammingsolutions, if you need me to send it to another mine is [email protected] Thanks
  16. Not trying to use letters, I have the fq defined, when I put q where I think it should go, I get an error stating q2 not defined. How will I define variable q2? Thanks
  17. Thanks John, There are too many other things going on for me to make sense of the example you sent. I understand the format comment I don't understand the trigger I also don't unserstand the mi5 block, what is pfbld. My format statement will read: fq 2 "Input Main Program Number" then I want to call it from within mc9 as the program is being posted. I think I will call it in psof and don't know how to use it. I have tried many combinations so far, none of them right. Thanks Dennis
  18. Hi all, I need some help adding a user prompt for program number (asks while posting) I am working in 9.1 today trying to get some posts ready for updatepost.dll for x2. I am very new to post modifying so please help me with the abc's. I know I have to put a "fq2" statement somewhere then call it later but that is as far as my expertise goes. Thanks in advance Dennis
  19. Ok, after banging my head on the wall a few times I discovered: if I check: Support coolant using coolant value in post processor(provides backward compatibility for older posts) then save the definition, then change the coolant value in the operation then save the mcam file then post, voila it works. Thanks John
  20. Thanks John, I tried that, no workie
  21. I am having problems converting v9 posts over to x2. I have finally started converting them to X first then to X2 with good results on most. The problem I currently have is I can't get X2 to post "m8" to save my mastercam certificaiton. Does anyone have a clue? I did a search and found JP suggested turning on v9 coolant in machine general settings. I couldn't find a v9 reference anywhere. Help Dennis
  22. Out of your choices, Inventor Solidworks & Mastercam are the only ones I have used (some catia). IMO Solidworks is like cross country in Cadillac, Inventor is like the same trip in an Escort. Mastercam is just that "CAM"
  23. Interesting graphic thtalim, someone needs anger management--nevermind too late looks like genetic selection took over. What do you mean can't rotate, won't it be a solid at that point? maybe I missed something
