  1. Ok I have my dumbass on this AM. I don't know where I got Pete from, Thanks John
  2. Thanks for the slap Pete, I'll go back to sleep now
  3. Every time I edit and save a tool in my tool library, it creates a new tool. I now have 12 5/16 end mill. I have read the help files on this and don't see anything relevant. If I could just delete a tool from the library this would work around. Does anyone have any help for this ??
  4. Thanks Roger, I read that article and decided the wireless system was cool but didn't see where it would benifit my app. I will probably think different if we ever get a strike so specific but I think the chances are extremely remote at best. What do you use for com?
  5. John, I too would blame the solids or hdw combo but the problem seems to be that geometry gets rearanged sometimes in conjunction with a save. If I orphan the solid this doesn't happen. I also have some 5ax swarf toolpaths that seem to be corrupt upon re-opening the file and won't regen at all. The swarf problem seems to go away when I uncheck the "minimize corners in toolpath" option. Don't get me wrong, I like mastercam but get frustrated like others. I have beta'd other software packages so my tolerance level might be higher that others but after 20 or 30 problems a week it gets old and I like other must vent.
  6. Sometimes frustration manifests itself in undesirable ways, I have to wonder though if these fault finders are really taxing their package. I had very few problems with mr1 sp2 until adding level 3 and solids, now it seems almost as glitchy as the GibbsCam that I left. I just keep thinking that its my inexperience with mcam but after reading this I am starting to wonder. This thread is outlining some of the same probs I have.
  7. Kinda sounds like they loosened up the params to get the thing on your floor. You weren't really supposed to challenge the specs like that, you might void the warranty!!
  8. Just crashed, first time this week though since mill3 and solids I have had many crashes, mostly, I discovered because geo would mysteryously change itself. Since I learned that I usually orphan my solid (c-hook nohist) and have few problems. Just not the crash was when I tried to open .dwg
  9. Buxton, the thing that made me say encoder was dropping a round or being off by 45 deg. If gain is off you should get a following error or not in-position error unless both of those param's are set really wide.
  10. I had hoped to get an e-mail from each operator upon completion of the job with a brief summary of what might have gone wrong or improvements.
  11. Hey John, got any extra monkeys?? Mine always change tap cycles to 1/4-20: 200rpm G94 10 IPM 1/2-13: 130 rpm 10 IPM Buxton, sounds like a loose or malfunctioning spindle encoder. Does the rpm jump around when not under a load??
  12. Watcher, Yes a workstation on each cnc machine. I think this will open a more solid line of com. for job costing standards as well as causing the machinist to edit the header of the program per our ISO standards. John, I have discused each method with my reseller. I hoped to get input on how this is being done in other shops. Thanks
  13. Not really looking for the cheapest way, we have an electrician in house for the running of the wires. I thought opening mail capability might be handy in the workstation method.
  14. The "Coilhose Typhoon" air nozzles move a very large volume of air, not quiet but maybe you can turn the pressure down on these nozzles to help. Not real expensive either.
  15. Outgrown our current multibox rs232 communications that use win95. Thinking about Cimco DND MAX 5 with a workstation on each controller (26 machines O-M's and O-t's) or serial to ethernet converters on each machine. Our IT dept has a custom 2000pro version. Any Input either way?? Thanks All
  16. James, Sorry I missed the obvious e-mail invite. I was too busy dodging flaming arrows. I sent one off. Thanks
  17. Hi DC Gorn, Yes I understand the cost and importance of a finely tuned post but I don't know the difference between tool-lifestyle comment. The Kit I am trying to program is an older machine, no probe and don't know how I would access the tool-breakage issue. It uses an Omron CPU about the size of a box of kleenex and won't complete a 360 deg arc without stopping half way through to think about what its doing. So I don't know if I could use all the neat stuff you have written.
  18. Hey James Mayette, I didn't receive your e-mail on the post. I don't have a problem with paying for a post. I don't even need a finished post, someone even suggested that I ask for an example of code for the Kit. That would be fine, I can modify the post. The machine has some funny requirements that I have mostly discovered through trial and error, mostly error. I don't recall ever asking for a free finished-polished product. I understand the terratorialism of programming professionals. Mostly I have discovered that security in your skills (or talents) breeds kindness. That may or may not apply here but I am suspicious with the kind of remarks I have received from my request. Again I didn't ask for something for free but many assumed I was a hacker. I do however appreciate those of you who are confident and articulate.
  19. Well I see this forum is full of bored people with nothing to do but find fault with others who need help. Thanks for all the candid remarks, I do have a lisenced lathe-mill level 3 with solids and have the capability to modify my own post. I don't understand what the big deal is anyone can modify the post. Also I contacted my mastercam resellers for the post before I asked for help and none of them had ever heard of a Kit system 1000 which is no surprise cause I hadn't either. I have too much money invested to steal mcam products at this point just thought I could find some good natured fellow programmers who had seen code for this machine. Sorry I didn't take time to read the rules to be able to ask for help.
  20. Does anyone have a V9 post specific for a Kitamura 1000 controller?
