  1. I have been reading the thread from last week. I have checked .pst file to see if Q93 is set at RPFAN, which it is. Changed .txt file for my forward post and got the REVERSE option on post menu. It is directly under RUN in menu. When I click on REVERSE on menu it doesn't give me the option to select NC file. What am I doing wrong.
  2. It will be later in the week before I can get it. I was hoping I could get it a little sooner. Also would like to compare what reseller has, compared to one that is already debugged and running.
  3. Does anyone have a post for an Amada Laser. It is simple 2 axis machine. controler FANUC [ 09-30-2002, 10:23 PM: Message edited by: Rob ]
  4. I am having trouble with a tool that I'm trying to draw and program. I don't have a lot of exp. with surface geo. or surface toolpaths. I can't get the toolpath to follow the contour of the surfaces. I can't decide if I'm trying to use the wrong cutter or wrong type of toolpath. I need to rough the pocket with a 5/8 indexable EM. I might also need to use another EM(3/8 carb)to do a second rough pass. Then finish with 1/4 ball nose. Check the geo to make sure that the surfaces have been created correctly. I'm not postive that I created them right. I did the best I could. Also if you look at the part in the front veiw you will see that it is rotated 10degs. The part will be ran out of a 4th axis(tilted on 10degs). The 10deg tilt is for cutting the insert pockets. After I get the flutes(surfaces color #1) programed and cut I will begin to rotate the part to different positions in order to cut insert pockets. The insert pockets are easy. They are straight 2D programming. I am using MCv9. I am going to post the part on the ftp page under .MC9 files program name(TOOL1.MC9) . If you can help please give it a try.
  5. I am running v7.2. I am writing programs for 4th axis that replaces Y axis. I would like to know if there is any way to make 4th axis rotate to to different deg. using tool oper parameter page. Say I have a drill oper that is at 0,90,180,270. I would like to copy oper 4 times then change rotation in each tool oper.page. When post is run it would automatically set rotations in NC program. I am posting program then adding rotations manually.
  6. I need help with finish contour surface. Rough contour surface works fine. When I do finish pass, tool gouges down through center of part. Rough pass doesn't have this problem. I am using the same surface to genterate both toolpaths. I am using MC7.2. I am going to post file on FTP page under MC7 file. File name will be Rob1. If anyone can help it would be helpful.
  7. I want to think every last person who is on the forum. I have been helped with every problem that I could'nt figure out by myself. I have gotten help from the MC guys and other members. I like to come to the forum before bed to check what problems other people are having. I can learn a lot from everyone and their problems. IF SUASAGE WANTS TO POUT BECAUSE HE CAN'T BE FIRST. MAYBE HE NEEDS TO GO FIND MOM MA AND GET ON THE xxxx AND GET HER TO ROCK HIM TO SLEEP. BE A MAN NOT BABY IF HE WORKED AT MY SHOP HE WOULD HAVE A HARD LIFE!!!!!!!
  8. Cadcam, Can you use my post, then check the post to see if it needs to edited. If you make changes to the post please let me know what you changed. The post is in the same place on ftp, under 414.pst. Thanks Rob
  9. I am having problem with writing 4th axis program with V7. I have downlaoded the file on ftp page under MC7 file. Drawing is under Rob.mc7. Rob.nc was written on V5.5, that is why I know this program is written correctly (it produces a good part). Rob1.nc is the nc file that my V7 has produced. There are 2 major problems with this program. "X" axis is the axis that program is rotated about. Also, there are to many "A" axis moves. I have written the program the same as in V5.5 (I think?). I don't know if it is the way I am trying to write the tool segment or the way the post is producing the nc file. The red geo. is the toolpath. It is a o-ring grove. I hope I have given enough info so I can get some help. Rob [ 05-21-2002, 09:54 PM: Message edited by: Rob ]

  12. Has anyone got a used copy of MC Solids that they want to sale. (Lin & Shiue) Is MC Solids anything like drawing with Solidworks. Also looking for a book on Solidworks. Sorry I said the "S" word twice. Trying to learn all the cad programs at work.
  13. THanks for the input. Speaking of input my next project is to learn to DNC to a Mazak M32 control so I can run these longer programs. Those M32 controllers want hold very much in the memory. Rob
  14. It will be tomorrow before I can reply again. Bedtime. Lots of overtime these days. Thank God!!! Have a good night & thanks to all.
  15. I have a part that I would like some feedback on how some of you big dog would go about programing this part. I have tried several different ways of programing the part. I had problems with each way that I tried to program. Each time the problem was different. The file is on the ftp page under rob.zip The color 11 is the surfaces that I am tring to cut. I first tried surface contour. The first problem was the min. step over I could do is .025 . Anything less than that I got an alarm; something to do with calulating z depth. When I move to a step over of .025 Had no problem with MC posting program. When I ran program like this it didn't clean part up at the top of part(at the split at top of screen). This is were the parallel protoin of the program comes in. I am just beginning to work with 3d surfaces and have a problem trying to decide which format that I need to use. I thought some of you could help me. I am using MILL 72. If you can help please save your verison in 72 format so I can see what you have done. You can send your verison to my e-mail: [email protected] Thank you Rob
  16. James, Thanks for the help. Fixed the problem. Rob
  17. I need help!!! I am using a basic mpfan post modified for Mazak. The problem is the post outputs tap feedrate to only two decimal place(.00). The problem is when I put the correct feed in when doing oper set-up. Example: enter fed for a 4-40 tap, which would be .025 feedrate. When I post the program it changes to .03 in the .nc file. Can you help me change this problem. Thanks, Rob
  18. I'm going to do the boundary for each surface I need to machine. When I get a chance I will put a copy of the mc file up, so you can see and maybe show me the easiest way to machine part. Rob
  19. I need help. I'm tring to split a surface. I want to machine only a small portion of a surface. The majority of the surface as already been machined using surface-project. The section that I want to split away is connected to some smaller surfaces (pocket, boss) that also need to be machined. The pocket and boss have a small fillet around them. This is why I have changed to a smaller tool and didn't do the whole surface using surf-project I can split some of the other surfaces on the part. I can't figure out why I can't split this surface. Maybe I am going about this all the wrong way. I'm still really (green) when it comes to using surfaces to machine to. If anyone needs more info I will do my best to explain what I am tring to do.

    Nesting

I am trying to get as many parts as possible out of a square piece stock. The parts are half circles. I have to contour around each part. The material is carbon fiber. The owner wants least amount of material used as possible. I was wondering if MC could lay the parts as tightly as possilbe in the area of raw stock.????????

  23. I have a Geforce 2mx/mx 400 video card. Guess what? The cursor is blacked out on screen. Can you believe it? I have download drivers from nvidia home page. Doesn't seem to help. Just bought Dell 8100 w/ME. I have read all forums related to this topic. I see the easies thing to do would be change OS or video card. Can,t do that at this time. I do have a free upgrade to XP. Just wondering if this might cure the problem. Just as if I were run Win 98 I wouldn't have this problem. Any solutions other than spending more $$$$.
