Thanks Rob and gcode. I tried and did both of those things. I first activated the solids to toothpath them, and that worked. Then changed all the solids to surfaces and toothpathed also, and that worked too. Thanks for all your help. This seems to be the only place to get good advice quickly. Jeff

How do I learn to draw solids in mastercam? Do I need a class or book for this? Can I take a 2D Cad drawing and draw it myself?

Whe I click on drive surface in the toothpath, it says there are "0" drive surfaces in the project.

What toothpath did you use? When I try to toothpath, I cannot "select drive surface" when I click on the model you sent. What do you think is wrong?

I uploded a file (Jeff's Solidworks Cant open) to the Drawing directory. It is too new for me to open Could someone convert it backwards to an earlier version of Solidworks so I could use it. Thanks for your help Jeff

Thanks Rob I uploaded a file (Jeff's SolidWorks Can't open) into the drawings file. It is in Solidowrks but I cant open it at work since we have not updated for some time(maybe 4 years). We have MCX Level 3 MR2 with a solidworks add on. But I cant open what they draw at work since it is in a current Solidworks program. Is it possible for someone to take this fils and convert backwards to an eariler version that I can use. Thanks for your help Jeff

When I try to open a page in windows explorer, I am asked for an email and password. I assume not the one used in logging on here. I have a file to upload and cant get it to work. Thanks for your help

JParis, Thanks. I know who I work with. Not my problem if they want me to work on their stuff, they will continue converting and complaining about it.

I have used Fusion in the past to run Windows. It worked well, then I took it off cause I didn't use windows enough to warrant the space used on the hard drive.

I have a Macbook pro. Not a desktop. 1 1/2 years old.

They stopped the maintenience program they had about 4 years ago. That's why Im running MCX MR2

I don't have much faith in that CAD dept if they couldn't model that in the first place with SW and save it in a universal format. Maybe their just being DIC#$ ? That is EXACTLY the problem. We ask them to convert their solidworks to DXF and you may as well be pulling teeth. That is where the problem started. Can I convert to older version myself or do I need sloidworks to do this?

click on 'Page' in upper right of window, click on 'Open FTP site in Windows Explorer'. I started having trouble with not finding "Page" in upper right of window. I dont see it and dont know where your looking. And I could not open the FTP site on my Mac at home. Thanks Bernie.
