  1. quote: If it really bugs you....LOL And you find that funny, why? Just kidding. I adjusted the program to 2:1 but have not run it yet. I will try again tomorrow. I ran it once, but want to get a better finish before running the REAL parts. Thanks for all your help. Jeff
  2. Mr Ocean: I ran that program today with the .0002 cut tolerance. It stopped cutting at the top of a cut. The error message said something about the I, J, and K, cant remember exactly how it was phrased. I looked at the program and it seemed to go halfway around the top radius and then went to a G1 code, not finishing the radius. The other program I made did not have this problem. Have you ever had this problem. Jeff
  3. Is cut tolerance, total tolerance, or sharp corner tolerance? Jeff
  4. Does that produce a very long program?
  5. Im having a problem with finish on this part I wonder if I could get some help with. I ran a surface finish scallop on this part with .006 stepsover. .500 coated carbide ball endmill, on A2 tool steel. I am getting small flats on the 1.0 radius and would like to know if this is normal or can I get a better finish? Jeff
  6. Yes. In the Operation manager open properties. Click files. Under Machine toolpth copy, click edit. open the control definition. go to operation defaults and change all the defaults you need to there. Jeff
  7. Do you have a small file that you might be having a problem with printed directly the way its sent to the machine from mastercam. It could be something in the comments. Not sure but if I could look at it I may be able to tell you.If so, email it to me so I can read it. Jeff
  8. I will check into this on Monday myself. Just curious what's going on here. Jeff
  9. How fast are you sending the programs? We only send at 38400 bps. I tried 115200 and it wont take it if the cable is longer than 20ft. If thats not it, call haas Monday and they will tell help you. If you find out, let me know what it is. I am interested. Jeff
  10. I dont have the manual in front of me. Did you look up error messages, or if your manual is like the new one's we have, it took out the error message part of the manual. It sounds like more than 80 per line is how much you have in a comment line between parenthesis.
  11. quote: It says "Question for James" , you other blockheads take a hike. Geez! Apparently Jimmy dropped the ball when his assistance was needed.
  12. We make wire winding machines for electric motors.
  13. Yes, I see them. When the part is done, I will post a picture. Thanks for your help. Jeff
  14. OK. I got it to work just by clicking on a containment boundry.
  15. Cool I cant seem to get the surface pocket to work. It says no cut-checktool, cut depths, or tool boundry found. Then it says no valid machining zone. no toolpath created. These are toolpaths I have never used. There must be more to it than just clicking on surfaces. Jeff
  16. Thanks Ocean, I will try that. I assume the name came from your close proximity to the ocean?
  17. 2 1/4-20 screws in the bottom of the part, bolting it to a subplate. A2 tool steel.
  18. what kind of problem or error message are you having?
  19. Thanks for all your help. I do have one more question. ( the questions never end) Can you suggest a good toolpath for this part? Jeff
  20. I am more conservative with tooling. I would go 50% to 70% depth with a tool that small. A larger tool like 1/2 or 3/4 you can push. 5/32 is to small to push that deep. Good Luck
  21. Dude...........Chill out... Was is a 2 or 4 flute? Jeff
  22. Are you going to be sending me a solids picture? We only have level 2 now. With the solids package you can toolpath solids and draw solids. Are they really that easy? Yes we need a .125 radius. And I would like to toolpath this the best way. Throw in the toolpaths and I will try to work something out. This job is not due this month so maybe I can hold off till we get updated to level 3 and solids. As far as tools, just wing it. I will work around it. Jeff
  23. I also need to know what kind of toolpath would work best with this
  24. Matt I dont have solids now, but we are updating to Level 3 and the Solid package in a couple weeks. That is what I want but dont know how to do it with surfaces. I need a .125 radius around like that. You can send it in eamil? That would be great. Jeff
