i didnt see v9, but v9 is the same idea

I cant seem to be able to get files off the ftp, but I think I know what you are trying to do. If you just want to cut the slot from the solid to a depth (using mcX) select solids, extrude, then chain the slot, hit enter. check the options cut body, both directions, and extend to specified distance. input the distance from slot chain to depth you want, and hit enter. you can also select detpt to point if you have a enity at the depth or extend through all.

I dont have the setdirs.dll in my chooks, is this available to dl somewhere?

anyone else have this problem, I need this to go to a difernt folder for the toolcrib to get the jobs I program setup to go to the machine, rather then a hard copy they get the info from the toolcrib pc, along with a .pdf conversion of the .mcx drawing

I agree with paul, at first I didnt like it, now i dont like using 9.

I was just wondering if there is a way to have my setup sheets go to another folder. They go to my .nc folder now, and I cant see in configuration settings to chang this to go to my .doc folder

I am getting ready to order a new pc today, it will be a dell but im unsure on video, im deciding on either a nvidea 6800 ultra wi9th 256 mb, or a quadro fx 1400 with 128. the quadro costs more money, and less ram, what is the way to go, or should i look at another card. but it must be available on a dell.

Im not sure, it may be a prob with my copy or settings, but I did what I wanted in v9, and opened it in X, all was good, but still no luck when i create the solid in x. I also got the customer to send me a cad file (iges) this seemed to have the same sort of issues, Ill prob just do my solid work in 9 until my tech suport shows up next week, thanks for the help, just curious if anyone else had the problem.

You gan just go to your operations manager and select coolant on on every operation just to be sure, thats what I did, then select thru coolant as you need it

I have just created a part using solids, I then created my surfaces from solids, using difernt layers, I then turned off the solids layer to do my toolpath, I have the surface layer on, says there is are enities, but nothing shows on screen, I then turned on my solids layer, and nothing there either. I have it backed up but im wondering if this is a issue with X or not?

I think I figured out the purpose of having difernt machine groups, it works out good for doing more then 1 operation or in my case for breaking up programs for memory reasons, you could do that in 9 fairly easy, I dont see the point in changing that, but I hope the sp2 fixes this. or it would be cool if you could have it default as filename1.nc for group 1 and filename2.nc for group 2 etc.

I was told to stay away from ati for x, think i read it on emastercam.com too, but i was recomend to get a nvidea quadro fx, they start around $700.00 canadian, but well worth it i guess, ill be getting one soon

well im starting to get use to the auto curser now, but I hated it all along. I think I am ok with it now, but I have some surface work to do now, this should create some problems, the solids features seems alot difernt from v9. I hope im wrong, lol. Thanks for the replies guys, to answer your question Crazy, No, I had my post set up to use the .mc9 file name, I am changing the number in the machine group, but my setup sheets are still not coming up with the corect number. but the .nc file seems to be ok, this is a small problem, Ill prob have to deal with it, but it would be nice if all that stuff was setup more like v9. I also dont really care for the auto cursor deal so far, for example, if i want to draw multiple arcs at same dia, in diff pos. it asks for dia every time, i turned off auto curser, this still hapens, is there a way around this?

I am having 2 small problems with X. I can't seem to be able to make my .nc filename default to be the same as the saved name, and also I found where to change the program number, but it comes out as 1000 everytime. I have modified my .set file for v9 and converted it to X, and I modified a version of mpmaster.pst V9 and also used the post update c-hook to convert this. could this be my problem? tech suport told me that there is no fix, and everyone has the same problem, is this true?
