Is this window missing something? Like check boxes for visible, etc. If so, is it a video card driver issue?, or something else?
  4. Since the new forum change, here at work sometimes it logs me out, and doesn't remember my password, even though I have checked the box remember me, and the internet explorer window to remember me. It doesn't seem to do this at home. Anyone else experiencing this? Or, know how to fix it?
  5. I received excellent responses on here, and machinist groups on Facebook that I belong too. We are now looking at a Giant W5 unit. Anyone on here using this brand?
  6. I'm still trying to learn these dynamic toolpaths. Can someone take a look at this file and give me advice on speeding up this operation. This is my settings from the last time I ran these parts. I'm using a Guhring Nano si 4 flute endmill with 1.25" flute length, material is 304 Stainless Steel. Part is held captive in softjaws with about .01 clearance all around. Part1.mcam
  7. I had to revert back to the old drivers here, because when I tried to edit a tool in X9, the window only partially appeared, my task bar would change colors, and when exiting Mastercam, both my screens would flash off, and back on, and the task bar would return to it's previous color..........
  8. Excellent responses! Thanks for taking the time to reply with links, and explanatory replies. We will look into these, and any others that post replies.
  9. So which one is it? A Burr King? Size? Part material? We know that the media changes with different materials, etc. We are a job shop that does all kinds, and shapes of parts, with different materials, etc............ Looking for something that will do a large range of parts.
  10. Good advice Doug. There are no local machine vendors that have demo machines in our area. That is one of the reasons we wanted more advice from others who have actually used a model, or a certain type of machine. We are located close to Portland Oregon, and just attended the tool show last week. And talked with a vender there. We did NOT come away with the answers we where after. (HE WAS NOT A VERY GOOD SALES PERSON!)
  11. The shop I work at is considering a new deburring machine, (Vibratory type), It's a small 4 man shop, and we do mostly stainless steel, aluminum, and steel parts in quantities 1-1500 pieces. So size wise are looking at a 6 to 8 cubic foot. The owner has done a lot of research on different brands, styles, etc., but still wants some more information. Can anyone give their recommendations on what brands, styles, you have experience with? And the reason why you like, dislike any of them?
  12. It work VERY WELL! On the left (before chip breaker), (after chip breaker).
  13. Loving this new chip break in 2017 MC! Material is Lexan (Polycarbonate). This stuff just wanted to wrap around the part and the chuck before I tried this new feature. Anyone else using it? What material, etc. (do tell)...............CHIP BREAK VIDEO.mp4
  14. This is a 1st here on the forum. Not a single reply. I thought one of you experts (JParis, Jay Kramer, Colin Gilchrist, jeff, 5th Axis CGI, etc.) would have some idea on this. So.......since I work for a small, and fairly new company (established about 3 1/2 years ago), I went through and opened every file, and saved it as an X9 file. All is good now.
  15. So, I reinstalled X6, which helped with some of the files, but when I was posting in X9 it would use Cimco v5, instead of Cimco v7. So I uninstalled X6, and back to where I was before. Is there a way to globally update all X6 files to X9? So that when I open a customer file folder it will show the thumbnail view on them?????
  16. Yesterday I messed up the association with x6 Mastercam files............and now they don't show the thumbnail view, and I can't reset the open with program to X9, or 2017 Mastercam. (X6 is no longer on this computer). Please help. I don't want to open all the files and resave them, if I don't have to.
  17. 1st place I tried. That's been our go to place, must have over 100 sets on the shelf currently.....LOL!
  18. Thanks for the links. I looked at those sites, and several others, but could not find any that would work. So I made my own. They work GREAT!
  19. Anyone know of a source for aluminum soft jaws for a Samchully HS-08 lathe chuck that can be machined to hold on a 13.25" OD?
  20. That was exactly what I was asking! Thank you all for your responses! I learned a new analyze function that I had previously not used. I was 99.9% sure that it was an angled surface from using Solidworks evaluate features like, (curvature, zebra strips, deviation analysis, etc.), But I wanted a second opinion. !!!
  21. I've sectioned off a piece of a part from a customer. Can someone have a look at it, and tell me if the area in red is an angle surface, or a radius surface. I think it's angled, and I got 14.9214 degrees. I've attached a Solidworks 2013 file, and a Parasolid file.TEST.SLDPRTTEST.SLDPRT
  22. That's what I did! (Ask, and you will receive)
  23. MY BAD! You Californians know EVERYTHING..............I'm from Washington.
