  1. Hey All: I am having an issue with a horizontal Mazak with a fusion control. The posted program is all point to point, and with a .001 tol. I think the machine can't keep up with the program. When the spindle is in 2nd gear (1400 +) the machine feed slows to .002 per rev. 1st gear will run the point to point, but I need the rpm. I called a rep at Mazak, and was told to try a G61.1 and that should take care of it............it didn't. I'm looking for a miracle code that can make everything better. By the way the machine has a 12,000 rpm spindle, so I'm hoping it also has a high speed package. I'm waiting to hear back from Mazak, but in the meantime I thought one of the experts here could help me out. Thanks, Frank
  2. Hey all: I've read about some problems here, but this has never happened to me. I've been working on a job for 2 days, and this morning opened it up to work on it, and there are no toolpaths, not even a machine group...completely blank.......ouch ! Please tell me there is a way to get my paths back. X2 SP1 Thanks, Frank
  3. Thanks all !!! Looking forward to see the paths Eric.
  4. It's actually on a 4th axis machine but we don't have the 4th axis capabilities, so I'm machining it as a positional rotary.
  5. Guys I wouldn't ask if I felt I could figure this one out, It is driving me crazy, and I'm sure you Guru's know of a way ! Please help ! Thanks
  6. I did try pencil........I haven't ever had very good luck with that path.
  7. Hi All: Hopefully someone here can help. I put a file in the ftp site, in the MCX2 files, folder labeled Front.mcx. I can't seem to find any toolpath that will just machine the outside of this part. I colored the part blue where it needs to be machined. I'm not great with 3d but I ran this whole part, and it turned out pretty good, I just need to figure out this one path. Thanks for any help you can give. Thank you, Frank
  8. Thanks Randy...........I think I got it
  9. I needed to make changes from a horizontal machine to a vertical. I've went to my control def, and I can't find a way to select the post.
  10. Hey All: I'm sure there is a way, just having a hard time finding it. I opened a post, saved it as a different name, and now I want to run it, but am having a hard time figuring out how to get it in a machine control file. Could someone explain step by step, on how to edit a post, and be able to run it. Thanks, Frank
  11. There are special taps made for racing heads. The M14 x 1.25 is one of them. The last place I worked used them on the chevy nascar heads. I'm not sure what is different about them but they are not standard M14 x 1.25 taps. We called them spark plug taps. Wish I had more information for you.
  12. Had the same problem today. The toolpaths were fine, but a surface I created seemed to disappear. When I tried to shade it......no shade, when I turned off shading it was there, but I couldn't highlight it. Created another surface at the same location.......it wouldn't show. Exit Mastercam completly, and it came back. Kinda strange, hopefully your same problem.
  13. Ok I got the save....thanks. If toolpaths will not go back, that's not good. I never even saved the file in X2, by just opening an earlier file it will no longer open in MR2 ? Ouch.
  14. Hey all: I just downloaded X2, a couple of issues: sorry if they are already talked about...but. First I don't have the new quick mask available, and also (very important), I installed it by itself, and opened a file from Mr2, and ran a tool. When I went back to MR2, and tried to open the same file, I got a message that says it was saved in a newer version of Mastercam. Went back to X2, and can't find a way to save it back to MR2. Please help !! Thanks, Frank
  15. Hi all: I think I have a good part for plunge cutting. What I have to do is rough square cavities going in thru the sides of a part. Is there a way to use plunge using just wireframe, I'm having a problem even with surface. I've allready drilled a hole in the center of where I need the pocket. For some reason I can't just helical, or contour with depths without breaking a carbide end mill or cobalt hogger. Hopefully plunge will help, but can't get there. Thanks for any help, Frank
  16. Works Great ! Thank you. I did notice though on a tap feedrate it goes 7 places past the decimal. But if it can't be fixed I can live with that. Thanks again John.
  17. Hey All: Hopefully there is an easy place to fix this. I have started programming using G95, which is feedrate per rev. I was able to change the post to output only G95's, but if my feedrate is under .01, I get a posted feedrate of F.0 . Where can I find that issue in the post, to allow the feedrate to be more that 1 decimal point. Thanks all Frank
  18. Hey all:I'm having some trouble doing what seems to be a simple path. What I want to do on the integrex, is put an undercut in the corner of a shoulder on a round part. I figured it would be easy to just take a 1/32 ballnose, put the tool at 45°(B)move into the corner and spin the © axis. C face contour works great, but only at 90° to the spindle. Anybody have any suggestions ? Thanks,
  19. Kind of, actually got it from Axsys, but I know Axsys got it from Bret at In-house. Thanks for the help....I'm sure I'll be back to pick your brains. Thanks again Frank
  20. Thanks Craig ! I don't think we have a sub-spindle, and I know we don't have the lower turret. I'm just waiting for Axsys to provide a post and some training for it.
  21. Hey all: I've made a move...used to be just plain ole Frank. I've now got X, and have just purchased a post for a Integrex, and a 2 day on site training for X and this machine. Is anybody familiar with the integrex ? How good does it work with Mastercam ? Thanks, Frank
