ive seen some of the other toolpaths use stepup as well to get rid of some of the material but it doesn't seem to be in this toolpath.

Could you use Optirough for this part?

Edit: When you talk about "deburr toolpath" are you talking about chamfer?

No, there is a toolpath called Deburr.  And it's made for ballnose end mills.

I think it's new to Mastercam 2020, although it may have been in 2019 I'm not certain.

    yep, it was in 2019:

thanks.  Harvey don't make a size that will fit thru the hole and get that size radius.  I will have to ask for a deviation to a smaller radius from the customer.  Hopefully they will be ok with it.

They will make you a custom tool to the size you need.

I would like to know how you can get the graphics to go a normal speed instead of either painfully slow or faster then you can blink.  I see verify in other programs simulating how they actually look machining running smoothly..my verify is 0 to 100..

The machine simulation has much better control over speed than verify.

I've found verify to be spotty... meaning if I am just verifying 1 toolpath,it is hitchy and seems to be dog slow. But if I have 4 more toolpaths after that one, then it's "normal" speed.

Also restarting Mastercam seems to help at times.

i use mirror all the time, usually just have to right click on geometry and reverse path, then check your start position and comp direction, it will comp change when you reverse if you only have one contour. ( or you can just rechain )

Don't you have to hit "Change Side" also?

  6. Never cut the stuff, but are you looking for diamond tooling? If so, Sandvik Century face mills are very good (their RA590 series).

Can run it with carbide also. This face mill has the feature where you can adjust each individual insert height.

A tad pricey though but definitely worth it, we easily get a micro finish of <5 in 6061 without even trying.

I have in the past and have never received any help. They want a minimum of 500.00 to do anything relating to a post processor of any type,

That's odd, I've never been charged for having them alter a post, from the basic free ones to my 5 axis post.

No. This is within mastercam. Not the windows file explorer. Here is what I do..

When MC is open click on file

    click open

mouse over recent files list. It used to show an image.

Look in your config, under Files. Is this box checked?
