  1. Did a search on it John, not much is popping out. That was the first place i went.
  2. Does anyone have a toolist that they would be willing to share using the Active reports? Or, even better, does Gunther still have X+ around for X4? Ive messed with the active reports all day and am getting frustrated..... Any help is always appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  3. Dave- I have looked into that. You are correct it is mazaCam. I just have a hard time trying to justify two different cam softwares. Besides I am mainly a mill guy and love MasterCAM. I just talked to my IT guy that has been dealing with our local Mastercam rep and he is under the impression that the Cimco editor will make the program look like the conversational "Mazatrol" program. Does anyone know anything about this?
  4. Thanks for the info guys. I think that my problem is now that I do not have the EIA option on any of my lathes.
  5. Hello. My company is currently looking at software to program our Mazak lathes. Our lathe controllers range from a T32 to the new matrix versions. My questions are will mastercam communicate with the mazak? Will the program be in EIA format? Any help would be greatly appeciated.
  6. We Have tapped up to 3/4-16 in our mini mills and have been sucessful. I think that the haas machines all have a setting that you can change to make the tap reverse and come out up to 4 times as fast as programmed to go in. I myself do not like to bring the tap out any faster then it goes in incase it does catch a chip or something. this might be something to look into. I always set this parameter to "0"
  7. Try going to www.cnczone.com. there is a whole area on this site devoted to Haas machines. It is a forum just like this on and has been very helpful to me in the past.
  8. I started out nine years ago not even knowing how to use a micrometer or what a cnc machine was. I was thrown on a production job for about a year. while running I would stare at the control to watch what the lines said as they flashed by. In fact I used to get yelled at because I was not doing anything in my spare time between cycles. My boss and I still joke about it and in the end he always says to me I am glad you did what you did back then. My bets piece of information I can give is watch what is going on on the screen and in the Machine. Learn from your crashes(these will happen). And never take the aditude that you have this profession mastered. I am still learning new things and ways to make things faster and better everyday!
  9. Thanks for That infomation htm01. I will keep that in mind. I haven't ran much 3D work on them yet.
  10. We Have a long list of different vertical machines. Some old OKK PCV-40's,PCV-50, Fadal(VMC 15,4020,6030)Mori Seiki(M300-A1,MV40B)Haas(VF-0,VF-E,VF-2,VF-2SS,Vf-3,VF-6,VF-9,VF-10,Mini Mill,Toolroom Mill)Mazak VTC-16. That is all I can think of off the top of my head. IMHO our Haas machines are the best verticals we have.
  11. We just purchased 4 new Haas VF-2SS machines here. I dont know if you are familiar with the SS line of Hass Machines or not. They have a 1.6 sec. tool to tool side mount tool changer. They have a 1400ipm rapid rate and a 12000rpm direct drive spindle. The Haas controls are very user friendly. They come standard with high speed machining, so if you need to do 3D work on them they are very capable. That makes 5 VF-2SS machines for our company and we love them.
  12. Check on this: control definitions>NC Output>number of places to the left of decimal and number of places to the right of decimal. I am not sure if this helps any
  13. I just tried the same thing and it worked here. MCX MR1 SP2 & MCX SOLIDS
  14. I am just getting to know version X mill and I am trying to send and recieve files from a Mazak quick turn 20 with a T Plus controller. I have a RS 232 connection. I am not sure if I am able to recieve from a lathe with the mill version and further more i am not sure if Mastercam mill will read a mazatrol program. I am getting a "CMT MIS-CONNECTED" alarm on my lathe. I am not sure if I have my settings right or not. If anyone has any information on this, your help would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Thank you charlie. I will have to check into the diagnostics to see wheather I am having the same problem.
  16. No. The Machine will freeze up mid atc cycle. It does not do it every tool change. It does, for the most part, seem to occur on the same set of tools(same tool coming in and going out). I am getting a Atc arm retract senson malfuntion and a atc arm reverse prox malfuntion alarm when it happens. I have observed both of the sensor and them seem to be in working order.
  17. Does anyone out there have a Mazak FH480, 40 taper with a 90 position tool changer? I have one and it has been freezeing up during tool changes. Just wondering if any one has had this problem and knows how to fix it.
