Our tree spindle pooched out on us today. Any body out there have any ideas if its worth it to send it out to get fixed or do it ourselves, or junk the whole thing completely. The machine is otherwise sound condition. 10hp spindle.
Any opinion would help.
I used cimco all the time and then I switch jobs and convinced them to get it. Its worth the money for sure. Backplotting catches errors and visually shows you, its great for editing.
Just wondering where the values are stored in the control and how to get to them. Made an engraving program similar to the one that has been posted on this site. When it adds the values where does it store them?
I have made a couple of macros for a fanuc control, now I have to make one for a mazak control. Just wondering what the major differences where if any.
thanks
I am running a funuc control on a WT 250. I am using program restart to loop the program but I want to limit the number of times it loops. Does anyone know how to acheive this. I have done it on okuma but I am sure fanuc is totally different.
Thanks
Does anyone know the code for spindle sync. on okuma control for tapping. (g32 on fanuc) I need to peck tap on a lathe at sequential depths 3 inches deep.
Just wondering if anyone was familiar with a daewoo puma 10 with 10T control. It has work coordinate system (g54-g59) but I can't get it to work properly. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Need to remove the 3 jaw chucks and replace them with collets chucks. Never done this before and have heard it quite tricky, thought someone out there might have some usefull infput.
Trying cut a large nut with a 2 start acme and my finish is very chattery. Its 4140 8.25 ID, I used longhand g32 because I have success with it before but not on this part. I started at 250 rpm and now I am down to 75 with same results. Using a single point acme insert (top lock) with a 2 inch bar and going only 2.5 in depth. The test bolt fits good but the finish is errrr.
Looking for a new way to organize our cabinets of inserts and tooling. We have lista cabinets and looking to streamline the way to find and monitor stock. Any suggestions? I was thinking of numbering the drawers and keeping the same types of inserts together. ex cnmg 431, 432
I slowed down the rpm to 250 and looks pretty good now. I think in the future I will used the long hand method and and copy and paste the last passes for spring cuts.
I am turning a 2.75 ID 6 tpi single start acme and the finish is not quite the best. A little chatter on the sides of the thread. Tried running at 650 rpm and 500 not difference. any suggestions?

I have predator but haven't had time to get into it. I think you have to put a tool header into the program so predator can read the code. I used cimco in the passed and love it, the backplotting was easy to use and the file compare was great.
