  1. Sounds like someone needs to start a new poll thread. Wear comp or Control comp. I use Wear but prefer Control. Wasn't my decsion company was this way when I started. Control comp will assure you are getting the correct radius in the part corner. Otherwise yes you will get a error at the machine. Wear comp is cheating your finished part could end up with the wrong radius in the corner. Because if your cutter is to big to fit in the corner your .nc code will not have a g02 or g03 but just a X,Y, sharp corner.
  2. Lou your correct it still does zoom correctly. I guess I never continued after selecting the first corner and hitting F2. I have always aborted the operation thinking it was not going to select the proper geometry. I don't care for it working like this, but I'll take what I can get.
  3. Is this happening to you also. I will zoomed up on an area and will start a "window selection". I press the mouse key to select the first corner then hit my F2 to Unzoom so I can see and select my second corner of my window. Well in doing so I loose the position of my first window selection. I am using Mcx, this worked fine in Mc9, is this a bug in Mcx?
  4. Select a point "your entry loaction" in the keyway then do a chain. The chain start point needs to be perpendicular to the entry point. Break it if it is not. In the "Leadin/out" parameters page put a 0 in all the feilds. You then need to besure that 4 things are checked. Entry, Exit, Use entry Point and Use exit point. Using this method you can put a tool down in a hole or slot and turn comp on with only .0001 clearance. Ocasionaly you may prefer to arc in a little. Do the above but then add value slightly bigger then the tool radius to the Arc Radius feild in the leadin/out parameters page. This would depend on wheter your using Control comp or Wear comp.
  5. After unchecking enable power keys the S key then did work. I would think that the S key is a power key and that the power keys would need to be enabled. It does work now but only partialy. If you have 2 leaders going to 1 note in ver 9 you could hit "R" key twice and it deletes both. Then in ver9 hit "A" key to add a leader to an area and hit "A" key again to add leader to another area. MCX is not working the same way. It seems to only add one leader. And why would the Hot key be switched to M and S rather then the old R for remove and A for add.
  6. May want to take a peek at your total system memory status. You may have a problem with something on your pc hogging and not releasing memory. Right click task bar. select Task manager, go to Performance tab.Look at the physical memory available. I would look at this as a reference and reboot the cpu and start your toolpath once again.
  7. Thanks for the input. Prefer to try and keep my original R and A hot keys. These were mastercam defaults in ver 9. Also hitting the "H" key in draft mode will give you a box to edit you note or text height. This is very handy and works well in both V9 and MCX. Also might add hitting the T key will allow you to modify the text. MCX new hot keys apprear to be M and S but S does not work correctly. Four of my favorite hot keys in draft mode is H,T,R, and A. They kept the H,T, but messed with my R,A.
  8. I am missing my option that I used in Ver 9 frequently. I use to be able to go into Drafting mode click on an excising note which had a leader line. Hit the "R" key on my keyboard to remove the leader line then hit the "A" key to add the leader line. This allows you to move notes with out deleting and recreating them. In MCX I do see a check mark "-" and a check mark "+" which will do this but I want my hot key "R" and "A" which V9 had as a system default.Holding the cursor over the check mark "-" shows that "M" is the new hot key and hitting "M" will remove the leader as it suppose to. But the new hot key for check mark "-" suppose to be "S" and it does not do what "A" did in Ver 9. Why did Mastercam change the hot keys for these functions and why is the hitting the "S" key not adding a new leader. These do not appear to be the type of hot keys that a user can set up. Also I do have my power key selection enabled under auto cursor settings. Any input would be appreciated. Thank You.
  9. In ver 9 when printing a hardcopy you could selet to print the file name and date also. I do not see the ability to do that in MCX. Is it possible?
  10. No, but Dad was, thus I got the name.
  11. Found it, figured it must be in config. but could never find it till now. It is in the Cad settins tab of the config.
  12. At the bottom of MCX screen is a attribute tab. Click and open this. At the bottom of this attribute menu is a "EA MFG" selection in this are some very nice settings for default colors and levels. I have set this to my preference before but for some reason after a couple days I seem to loose them and this goes back to defaulted off. Anyone know how I can save these to always be active?
  13. Open your control definition. Click "operation Defaults" down near the bottom under control topics heading. Then over to the right where your operation defaults are shown scroll up to the top and open the files tab. Go to the "Tool settings" tab and their you will find your "use tools step, peck coolant"
  14. Spent the weekend converting from V9 to MCX mr2. I do have one problem. My .set setup sheet will no longer fit on a 8.5 wide sheet of paper when printed out. It cuts off approx. .750 of information. I did run the post utlilty conversion on my old .set file. This appears to have changed some spacing setting in my .set file. The spacing between blocks of information is a little longer. I did a file compare between my old and new .set file and saw nothing obvious. Although it is full of syntax $ which is now needed. Also tried 2 types of editors "mastercam and PFE32" when posting out the setup sheet both gave me the same results. In v9 my set up sheet .set worked fine, if I did type in excess information it would roll over to another line, not cut it off when printed as MCX is doing. Am I overlooking something?
