  1. Gold, Invest in the ProE converter! Trust me it's worth it. 2nd option... Parasolid is not bad but it still changes formats. Do you import datum curves with your iges files? Also check the accuracy of the .prt file under file-setup-accuracy and set to minimal tolerance. Good Luck.
  2. Side note: What is the cost to upgrade to NetHasp or should this be a reseller question? Our ProE is configed the same way so it only makes since. Why would you save NCI files locally anyway? If you don't need the NCIs don't save them at all. This can be changed in the config.
  3. You can't "convert" toolpath files from Gibbs to MC. It requires reprogramming. You can however get the geometry if you have a converter in Gibbs. If the files is not very complex a simple IGES converter will suffice. I'm dealing with the same issue with ProE Manufacture so I feel ya!
  4. "clear up some hot jobs" Are they smoking or enflamed??? LOL Some things never change! When you get this proved out I'd like to come by and take a look at it. I need to give "Waddel's Dad" a call anyway so maybe I can get the "Security Clearance" needed to visit! LOL How's the boat running?
  5. Hello All, We are entertaining the purchase of Verisurf for the inspection needs of our complex parts. The only con for me is at my last job it ended up being a huge waste of $ (Don S can verify). I don't know if it was poor product or ignorance that produced a $60,000 dust collector but the inspectors avoided it like the plague. Any advice would be appreciated.

  7. Don, Did you ever incorporate probing inspection on the VF8s? Where is the info stored, how is it accessed, how it is decoded, and how is it formatted?
  8. I don't see anything for a Hermle. We use the probe for part setting and 3D rotation calculations but not for inspection. This is a prototype machining dept. not production so we can't justify all the metric constraints and cost to qualify our machine as a true gage. Is it really necessary to use valuable machine time for inspection when it may only be one part and we have several millions of $ in inspection and metrology equipment? This is the arguement I'm proposing.
  9. Try using individual drill operations... only a quick fix...
  10. Hello All, I wanted to know if anyone has post info on probing in a Hermle 5x mill. We use CAMplete for our posting & verification. One of the idiots on my staff is selling to our boss that the probing can be used as a CMM. Where is the info stored or accessed? I need to get something or prove he is a dumbass. Thanks.
  11. Hello All, I'm having a problem with the Comm on our 2 Hardinge Turning Centers. Uploading works fine but I can't get them to download(from computer to machine). The pin config info came straight from Hardinge so I'm thinking it's on the machine side. Any advice???
  12. I am changing toolplanes for index commands, thanks.
  13. Hello All, For some reason my Haas 4axis post is outpuing WCS changes on rotation commands (G54=A0, G55=A90, etc) any advice on this?
  14. I tried that but it only creates on the edge you select instead of all of the edges on a certain plane.
  15. Hello All, Is there a way to create Surface Edge Curves as one chain on a plane instead of several faucets? The method i'm using is create - curve - all edges - all - sufaces. Thanks.
  16. The coolant is on in the toolpaths. I'm on V9. Any help?
  17. Hello all, On the 1st operation my coolant code(M8) is functioning but not on all the others. The M9 is showing. Post problem?
  18. If your machine doesn't have the highspeed machining option you may not get a good surf finish because of the small moves it makes as a result of a pretty tight filter tolerance. If applicable, open your filter tol up a little bit.
  19. Sorry!!! Didn't know this question was frowned apon!!!
  20. Hello All, I'm a newbie so be gentle!!! Does anyone have a post for the above named machine for V9? It really doesn't matter if it is ISO or Mazatrol.
