  1. i agree with John Paris. its all in the Vid. baby! i got a pretty decked out Dell XPS system. also made sure i got Dell's best graphic card to in the system as well. have a blast!!!!
  2. Hey fellow Mastercam nerds, after a couple of weeks, most of us have our feet wet witht the new X2 version. what are your thoughts/tips to the new release. Mine in particular is the FILE RECOGNITION feature. our head honchos fell in love with this one once i demoed a sample to them of how it works. thoughts?? -R.
  3. jeez louise! the operator was NOT using the (CALC) button when touching his tools off. he was using the (ADD) button. anyhow, solves it all. thanks boys! -R.
  4. hey guys, thanks again for the input. i am gonna try a different tool #. just to see what the problem is. this has never happened before so i am trying everything. again, ALL the tools have worked, but for some reason, its only this tool. also, i noticed, next to the Nose radius comp. page, there are P-values that can be inputted. 1,2,3 n such. i believe they define comp for I.D. profile, O.D., etc. there is a (6) inputted in the P-value. any idea what the heck a (6) defines? -R.
  5. Here it is boys. have a blast! (TOOL: 7 OFFSET: 7) (ID THREAD) N347 G0 X30. Z30. NAT07 N349 T0707 N351 G97 S325 M03 N353 G0 X1.25 Z.25 M08 N355 G33 X1.3584 Z-1.3417 F.1667 N357 X1.3811 N359 X1.3989 N361 X1.4141 N363 X1.4275 N365 X1.4397 N367 X1.451 N369 X1.4614 N371 X1.4713 N373 X1.4806 N375 X1.4895 N377 X1.498 N379 X1.5 N381 X1.5 N383 G0 X1.1196 N385 Z.25 N387 M09 N389 G0 X30. Z30. N391 M05 N393 M02
  6. Mastercam. it is only programmed to go like Z-1.3. but when to tool is rapiding to its first point prior to cutting the I.D. thread, it states (Distance remaing) x5.whatever Z-15.whatever). it is only supposed to go to X1.25 z.25. it is a G33.
  7. Good day chaps. we are having a weird n bizarre issue on our machine. all the tools except for one ran good. the last tool, an I.D. thread tool, for some weird reson, keeps wanting to go, theoritically, way past the face of the piece. its first rapid point after it indexes & b4 it cuts the thread is X1.25 Z.25. So when we single block this, we get under the (Distance remaining) page, says like this HUGE X & -Z value. without a doubt the tool will slam right into the chuck. i checked to make sure the operator touched & probed the tool properly, but it still wants to slam into the face. ANY IDEA what may be causing this? it is a NEW Okuma OSP P100 machine. thanks in advance. -R.
  8. LOL!!! thats pretty funny James!
  9. Yes Sir! born and raised in Muscatine! By the quad cities/Iowa City. i've lived in Austin & Houston for quite sometime. i love it here in Houston except the jungle-heat! i miss the fall/winter weather at times. especially during football season. these damn Longhorn-Big-Twelves folks dont know what football is about! jk! GO HAWKS!!! i hope Tate gets better and takes them to a New Year's day bowl. nice to know there are other Hawk fans on this forum!!!
  10. Hey Midwest!!!!!! HAWKS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Go under the "settings/Run User Application/updatepost.dll it will guide u from there. have a blast! -R.
  12. Pro-Manufacture is a powerful tool, but it can be overaccessive at times, and depending on your companies applications. i agree with what John Paris had stated. we were in the same situation about 5 months ago. this company i am at is a new shop, therefore we had demos from the big cam companies, Gibbs, edgecam, Unix, Surfcam, etc. we didnt need the MX demo for the fact i have been using it for years. so in turn, Edgecam gave a BAD xxxx demo. it even "WOWED" myself. so needless to say, we went with the new release of edgecam. working with our mastercam reseller for quite some time here in Texas, one thing came evident after a month of having edgecam. their tech support was nothing compared to MX. so in turn, that was their downfall. we wound up canceling our PO and went with MX. needless to say, all is fine and dandy on the home front here. i like your optimism about the Pro-E experinece looking good on your resume. give it a chance. but dont expect the same results. at the end of the day, all that matters is that they "SELL U & CONFIGURE FOR U THE SOFTWARE THEY DEMOED" for u. make sense? good luck! -R.
  13. Good morning fellers, i am wonderning if there is a to ramp your tool while using Axis substitution? I tried the "Ramping" ordeal under the proper menu selection. when i verified, it DID NOT appear tool was ramping. We have a j-slot that is going into a pretty thick wall. i wanna ramp a shredmill and haul xxxx while tool is ramping. any ideas? thanks! -R.
  14. ok, cool! so how do we adjut the percentages of the base SFM & Feed Per Tooth? -R.
  15. cool! i have also heard of this but never tried it. i am wondering how to apply this "flame polish". -R.
