  1. Check to see if the output in the post for I,J is set to incremental not absolute
  2. Clean part with acetone and use 3M double sided tape to tape a block underneath to support the floor.
  3. Have you tried pushing down on the wheel while you spin the ball for dynamic rotation
  4. With mag the finer the chip the more volitile it gets. Dust can be set off with a static charge. When I ran it years ago it was required that I wipe the machine down every 4 hrs. Note if you get a lot of chips burning the dust/talc can slow it down but it creates in own oxy so it may have to burn out. I know of situations where the machine was picked up and taken outside to burn-out. I can't stress too much no water!!!! Good Luck
  5. You will never get a fire using water based. no matter how aggressive. I have seen oil start to light off
  6. If you are at a engineering company doing both cad and cam, UG because of being associative it is real powerful. If the model changes all assemblies are notified. down to the part program generatated by the cam. I have used both and as usiable as MC is for generating g-code UG is a huge leap for all round cad/cam. But man is the learning curve steep.
  7. I use a CCE UG to MC translator. I have found that when I use MC to create geometry to make a pathe in a wire frame that has been imported from UG that I can get squirly pathes.Case in point I used MC to connect lines to make a pocket. I used open pocket command. As long as I leave the rotation at zero everything is fine. but if I put any number in, at the end of the routine the last move is a vector waaay off the part then rapid to clearance then rapid to start point.
  8. The pull tests were done by two different mech E's and the results were the same.I work for a major defence co. We can only use roll/form taps on non-deliverale product.
  9. Although form/roll taps work great. The tapped holes will fail a Mil spec pull test. They can not be used on military hardware contracts.
