  1. A little off topic, but I have a question, do these people that make these converters also keep them up to date? As changes are made in the NCI?

How often does CNC Software change the NCI, for every major release?

    Thanks,

    Kevin C.

  2. I have seen this may times with that toolpath. There is an edge on your model that it is not seeing as being trimmed correctly, even though it may in fact be trimmed correctly.

There are two methods I use to fix this, one is do not select the whole solid/surface model to drive the toolpath, only select what is actually neccesary, or if that doesn't work, drive it off a saved STL file of your model.

One of these usually fixes it for me.

  3. There is good reason to look in the whats new file for X7 too.

Mastercam now has it's own hole axis function, while I haven't actually used it yet, it looks to be even more powerful than the verisurf hole axis.

never mind, I should have read the first post more carefully.

  4. Thanks CNC,

I see one of the bugs I reported for the stock model problem has been addresed. I will have to wait for my IT department to test it out.

    Thanks,

    Kevin C.

  5. That is a good suggestion Tom,

I did sort of try that yesterday by deselecting the dovetail operation, it is the last operation in the toolpath group before the stock model operation. It didn't help.

However, this morning I tried what you suggested and drug another tool in to the dovetail operation, curiously the operation went dirty but the stock model did not, even after saving the file and running ram saver.

I here you on the dovetail cutter and X7 though, I had to recreate the dovemill tool in the X7 tool manager before I could get verify to not error out on it. I thought that was strange since we have been using that same dovemill tool definition for many many releases now and it is just a standard defined dovemill.

    Thanks for the tip,

    Kevin C.

  6. It actually was created in x7 first. when it failed I then went back to x6 to test it and created it and it generated fine.

I actually just sent this file to qc@mastercam .com

The file name is "X7 stock model fail"

Hopefully they can figure it out and learn something. I have tried everything I could think of.

    Thanks,

    Kevin C.

  7. I have a part I brought in from X6 that was programmed in X6 I am milling some dovetails and drilling some holes for a technigrip operation, nothing very complicated all 3-axis. There is 11 operations total in this setup.

It generates a stock model just fine in X6, but in X7 it appears to only generate the first operation on the part, which is a drilling operation. All of the rest of the operations are not reflected on the resulting stock model.

Has anyone else seen anything like this on X7?

    Thanks,

    Kevin C.

  8. I love the Verisurf tools Ernie, thanks for them, unfortunately I can't install the X7 version listed above.

My IT department is saying it is giving our anti-virus software fits. We are using: TrendMicro Office Scan - Version 8.0

Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

    Thanks a bunch,

    Kevin C.
