  1. Interesting. I just looked and it was not in there? I asked the production manager for the book and I haven't seen it yet. I have seen alot of examples of stuff people have posted in here though where there is a line directly after the M06 "M56 H1 D2" He said he would try to find the book for me tommorow. Kevin
  2. Here is how it is posting right now. No M56 code at all. This is MCX with mpmaster post and Machine and control def. 3. John, The post I am using doesn't appear to be exactly as you describe. 4. OK, I have been doing alot of searches and I haven't seen this question addressed yet. What do I have to do to get the MPmaster post to put in the "M56 H1 D2" line right after the tool change? Would it be somewhere right here? # -------------------------------------------------------------------------- # Toolchange / NC output Variable Formats # -------------------------------------------------------------------------- fmt T 4 t$ #Tool No fmt T 4 first_tool$ #First Tool Used fmt T 4 next_tool$ #Next Tool Used fmt D 4 tloffno$ #Diameter Offset No fmt H 4 tlngno$ #Length Offset No fmt G 4 g_wcs #WCS G address fmt P 4 p_wcs #WCS P address fmt S 4 speed #Spindle Speed fmt M 4 gear #Gear range Thanks Again, Kevin C.
  5. Thanks Rick, It is a PRO 3. I also made the Tap mod that David talked about. I just haven't had time to try it yet. I contacted Brett also and he sent me to my dealer. Which I did and my dealer said he would have it (the Makino post) in a few days. Does it matter that we are not on Maintanance on stuff like this?
  6. Thanks David and everyone else. I have the MPmaster post now and it is working well. The Makino has the tool management system and I have never messed with that what would the call line be and is it easy to change in the post? Is it G43 H1 D2 Z6.0 OR G56 H1 D2 Z6.0 Or neither? Also how do I add the tap M135 change to the post? Or somewhere in the control definition? Thanks Gentlemen, Kevin C.
  7. Thanks guys, You are quite speedy! Kevin C.
  8. Rick, Do you know if they sell them. From looking at their website it looks like they don't like to be bothered about posts. http://www.emastercam.com/posts/ Thanks Kevin C
  9. Thanks alot guys. It worked just as you said. No mods needed to the Machine definition. I had my tombstone oriented wrong. I oriented it to the WCS as if it was lined up just like it would be in the machine. Kevin C.
  10. I just started a new job and the guy that left before I got here was using V9 not X. Since I am new to Mastercam I decided I wanted to learn X only. I am having trouble getting a working post for a 4 axis horizontal makino. I have been doing alot of reading here and I admit that alot of it is still over my head but here is what I have done so far. I downloaded the mpmaster machine definitions and post. I loaded the horizontal machine definition for horizontal and edited the post to activate it for horizontal and not vertical. In my cut file I am trying to machine a tombstone at B0 and B180. I have the WCS set to top for all cuts and for the B0 side I have the tplane at top and B180 I have the tplane at bottom. Is there any modifications I need to make to the mpmaster machine or control definition to get it to work with a horizontal with B-axis that rotates around Y-axis? It appears to me that in the machine def. it shows the b-axis rotating around x axis and not y. I realize this is a long question but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Kevin C.
  11. Thanks that was very quick. I also meant to ask is their a post editing handbook or manual anywhere? The help file just says that it is beyond the scope of this manual? Alot of help that was! Thanks Kevin C.
  12. I am new to mastercam so please be gentle. So you know where I am coming from I have been using Gibbscam. I read in the help file about updating V9 post files to work with X. I just started a new job and I am learning Mastercam X and I need to update all of the V9 posts to X. Is there a simple explanation of how to do that? Thanks, Kevin C.
