Everytime I use the surface rough or finish toolpath the tool always cuts above the part on the first series of cuts. Is there anyway around this? (X2)
You should look for some tutorials online or consider buying some of the books they sell here covering Mill level 1 all the way to the 5 axis stuff, they are really a good investment if you are serious about learning and they will get you machining in no time.
I used EZ-Cam about 5yrs. ago, it was good for starting out. The 2-D is ok with limited options to customize your toolpaths, the 3-D was horrible.(IMHO)Mastercam has far more options and tremendous amounts of people and places to get help from,so the learning curve was very little.Just my two cents!
I am drilling a 3/32 hole .700 deep into a hole in d-2. The last 3 drills have broke off in the part, and I sure don't want to have to drill on the old manual mill. Any ideas on speeds and feeds, and peck? I am running 850 rpm feed of 1 inch per minute and a .020 peck.
