  1. Can anyone confirm if it's possible to lock the tool library so it can't be edited, or so only one person is allowed to edit it?
  2. Tried to contact them about Probe Pilot but get no response so I'm wondering if they've gone bust?
  3. ??? - Well we do have a copy of MR0105 which I'm putting onto the FTP for you to download. Cheers, Stew (4D)>
  4. Anyone remember this from v9 - Mastercam Studio?? Only this gave the function of applying 'texture maps' and projecting them onto surfaces. I remember using this to get good screen shots of brown surfaces with a wood texture to make it look like real wood. It worked well, but anyone know if this can be done in X anywhere?
  5. Looking for an example of a bears head, or deer head, (or anything similar) in surface format to test for a potential user - anyone have anything I could use? TIA Stew

  7. quote: In-House is your only choice when it comes to a post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... in North America. Elsewhere, you also have the choice of Cimco and Camaix for Mill/Turn posts. Cheers,
  8. Bob, don't forget if you had a 5 axis post from Camaix, it links to the 5 axis simulation software already available (free) for Mastercam X2. You would need to model the STL files for the simulation first of course. LINK Not as good as Vericut (doesn't simulate actual G-Code), but better than simulating NCI as it does work from the post processor, and a lot cheaper of course! Cheers, Stew.
  9. I think the 5 axis sim will also do 3 and 4 axis...
  10. Hi DS, I'm sure Camaix can shed more light on this, but I don't think it's strictly simulating NCI. The Camaix post does two things at the same time. First, it creates the post processed G-code output from Mastercams internal toolpaths then at the SAME time creates a seperate file which drives it's simulation software. Because this file is made at the same time as posting, it has the same post decisions in it. So if the post decides to do some 5 axis 'unwinding' due to limitations with the machine (for example), then this should also show up in their simulation. If the simulation just worked from NCI, then clearly this 'unwinding' wouldn't be shown. It's not as good as simulating actual g-code (like Vericut) but better than simulation sytems that simulate non post processed code (NCI) - kinda like in the middle of the two types of simulation methods I suppose. Cheers,
  11. Surprised no-one has mentioned the Camaix MachSim for machine simulation. It doesn't simulate gcode, but the source code it makes for the simulation is written by the post processor when it's run. So much better than using pre-posted NCI.
  12. It's a CNC option that works inside MC (Not Entry or Draft) and is a very good dissimilar nester. Check with your Dealer.
  13. Thanks John, can you email it to me? Hi Tinny, Yes, you do some nice 5 axis stuff there...thanks for he tip.
  14. Yes, I understand it can be difficult. Another thing I'd like to do is make up a board with names of Mastercam Aerospace users. As it's an international show, we can mix these with the UK ones. So if I can use your company name, please let me know.
  15. Hi all, we're taking a booth at the Farnborough International Airshow in a couple of weeks in the UK. I'm looking for any aerospace subbies if they have any nice Mastercam parts we could show at the exhibition? They won't be used for demo purposes, just examples of parts done for aerospace using Mastercam. Full credit will be given if needed, or we'll ensure anonimity as well if preferred. Many thanks for your help.... Cheers, Stew ([email protected])
