I started as an Apprentice at Newport News Shipbuilding 1982. After completing my apprenticeship , they moved me to night shift in the CNC department setting up and operating machines. They had 10 lathes and 3 mills running on nights with no programmers available. So when there was a problem with a program you were SOL. I started doing my own editing at the machine. The other operators started asking me for my help. So it became almost my main job. My first CAM system wasn't until I started at Zippo, they were using Smartcam, then NC Polaris and now MC.

no matter how much they swear they repeat I find my self running an indicator over every part.
I check all my parts with a indicator also. With the Hermann Schmidt magnet do you bolt it to the table or mount it on a leveling head?

I've been using System 3R for many years on my EDM's. Their products are high quality but the cost is outrageous. After having an issue with an incorrect order, I feel their customer service is terrible. They sucker you in with their leveling heads then they over price any attachments or replacement parts. So I'm considering switching to something else. One of the brands I'm looking into Ram Precision Tool Inc. . . . Has anyone used their products, recommendations?

I would create surface for solid body. The try rough surface flowline then finish surface flowline. Using a ball mill.
-
I figured it out. I had to change a parameter (3202) allow me to clear out the corrupt memory.

I'm having a problem with the program memory being used up on my Cinci. with a Fanuc 18I . My part programs are all cleared out. The dir. screen reads
(memory Char) used 124380, free 1800
(Pro. num) Use 0 , Free 200
. Any suggestions?

$25/hr x 40hrs x 52 weeks = $52k/yr
In my neck of the woods, a family of 4, you're not even breaking even month to month.
By the time you've paid, your taxes, health ins, rent, what you have left isn't providing any kind of decent lifestyle
I make less than that and my neck of the woods, I live pretty darn good.

If you talk to your reseller or CNC software they can set you up with all the power settings files you need for your machine.
-
Are you talking about power library?
-
I'm unable to look at your file.. but are you using containment boundary? if so, do you have outside, center or inside checked? I'd try outside

What's bugs were fixed?

That's because after they see your pic they are afraid of you.
I really am tall, ugly and have a block head!

FWIW I have had nothing but issues with Mits service and support of the SX10 we purchased used. Service in your area may consist of more competent individuals, but I had issues dealing with the head office as well. I'm shopping for a new machine to replace the one on my floor, Mit's is not on my list at all.
I am very surprised to hear that. I've had nothing but top notch experience with Mits. service and support.

I like OSG cutters

How long have you had the Mitz Oppiz?
Since 1998.. I have 2, the older being a FX10K and a newer FA10P.
-
I run Mitsubishi .. you can't beat the accuracy

Can you project the all of the holes to the same depth, then select them?
-
Unless the hole is deep, have you considered circle pocket or boring? That way you are in control of the end result.

If he's reaming bronze, I would suggest a nylon bushing or delrin
I will suggest this to him, but it isn't a 1 time thing. He does this on a regular basis. A long flute reamer would be an easier way to go. I have a .501 reamer with 6" flute, but he wants an oversized 5/8".
-
The reamer is not for me to use on a CNC machine. It's for one of the mechanics to use on a piece of equipment.
-
6" of flute, or 6" reach?
flute.. It's for 2 bushings that need to be inline that have a large distance between them.
-
I'm looking for a .626 reamer with 6" of flute. Does anyone know of a supplier that can help me?
