I've tried to use the spiral limit setting but see no difference in the toolpath what ever figure I use. Maybe i'm not understanding how this is supposed to work. I did a simple SFC using follow surface and shallow cuts minimum stepdown 0.01 mm limiting stepover 0.05mm No matter what figure I type as the spiral limit i still get a stepover toolpath. Any help ideas much appreciated.
Hi Moldmaker, Anbu
Thanks for the info. I have only seen the slide show but if it does with ease what is demonstrated it has to be worth it.
Anbu; I was contacted by Bob Hill this morning he is sending me a demo and license.
cheers Johnny
Hi Moldmaker
How do you like moldplus? It looks like a great porgram I've tried a few times to get a demo from them through the website but they have ignored my request.
Cheers
Having mine shipped to a mate in NY then on to me downunder at my cost. I would have thought the cost of shipping a caledar outside the USA was insignificant considering the initial cost of the software, around $30K AU and the on going maintenance program
Lee, I just checked the Open GL setting, its ticked but greyed out, So it can't be changed. I wonder if this has something to do with it. Thanks for your input
Cheers
Hi Lee
I'm having video problems with 9.1 MR0304 using a 3DLABS Wildcat card. When I open my files they fly off into a weird view, or sometimes I don't see the file at all until I do screen fit. I On occasions the program just crashes before the files have loaded.
I've asked about this before but had no solutions, any help on this would be much appreciated.
Regards
WHAT!!!
Thats weird, you never know when you need the disc to do a repair or something.
I'd doing some serious hassleing...
hope something goes right soon

Hi all i rang the head office for reselling Mastercam in Australia wich is in another state and i spoke with them and two minutes later i had my codes emailed to me Hi David
I'm glad I haven't had any of the drama you are having mate!!
Who is head office?? I thought Bob Hill was da' man in AU
Cheers
David
Why don't you have a genuine Mastercam installation CD?
There must be a user close by that can lend you the CD. Failing that Bob Hill should be able to supply you with one express post by tomorrow morning.
Cheers
David
Its a 500meg zip file and its going to take ages to upload it took 2 minutes to send 1.5 meg so maybe not such a good idea wish i could help you out
Cheers
Weird thing is mine works fine?
David I can upload my V9.1 sp2 cd to a directory where you can download if that helps. At least you can get back on track.
What do you think??
Cheers
Hi David
Did you run the new haspm.exe and update your code??
I also get the "maintenance has expired" warning but Mastercam still works fine go figure! I haven't had an answer to that issue yet.
I got my CD in the mail this morning.
Cheers
Hi David
I had no problems whatsoever. I installed straight over SP2. I am very happy with the results. This update fixed a few really painful bugs I was having with V9 "surface finish contour" hi-speed round on and off
Cheers
Hi David
I downloaded the March Update 9.1 MR0304 112mb of it (lucky we used Broadband) after I got the email from Mastercam. We had been waiting for our new code from our reseller, Bob Hill at Technology Sales and Support and got it the next day. Apparently they have CDs and are being sent out to their Maintenance customers.
Who do you work for?
mate!
I have just installed 9.1 MR0304 and am so far very happy BUT!! when I start Mastercam I get a a window telling me my Maintenance Contract has expired. If I immediately close the session and restart I don't get the message. Otherwise everything is working OK. Any ideas??
Thanks
I've come to the conclusion that it is the frequent autosave that is giving me this problem.
I turned off autosave and it wasn't happening anymore. But I want to continue using the autosave like I do so I'll live with it.
Thanks for your input guys
Merry Christmas from the land downunder
Thanks for your tips Crazy Millman
I have my NCI path settings the same as yours but I save my backup file at a 2 minute interval. From what I am seeing that makes no difference to the problem I am having.
I'll change by backup file interval and see if it makes a difference.
Thanks Tony
I tried that but it now automatically creates an nci file with the default name T.NCI and it still continues to save the NCI file to that name.
Regards
For some reason Mastercam keeps on saving the NCI file once I have created an operation. I might be analyzing the results by zooming in and out and looking at the toolpath in different views etc Then WAMO! everything stops while the NCI is saved yet again. On small toolpaths this is not a problem but on large toolpaths it is because it holds the computer up for a considerable amount of time while it writes to the disk.
Is there a way this can be turned off or is it just the way the software works. BTW I save my backup file automatically every 5 minutes which has saved my bacon on many occasions. Would this be something to do with it?
Any help much appreciated
Regards
Hey Tex
We had the same problem with our 3dlabs Wildcat 870. In the OPEN GL settings there is a setting called "Z buffer depth" Change this from Dynamic to Force 32 Bit and problem will go away.
To get there right click the desktop and click Properties (not 3dlabs Properties) and go to display settings > click Advanced button > then 3dlabs tab > then advanced again > then OPEN GL Tab. you will see it in there.
We are still having problems with our Wildcat card running 9.1 SP2 there are bugs which give strange GVIEW results on file loading. I'm not the only one with this problem. ( see post a few days back) This video card cost us $800 AUS and I can't believe there are conflicts between it and Mastercam
Hope this sorts your problem out.
