  1. Thanks guys, the first part we did the holes walked on us using carbide drill and carbide tipped reamer. I think I'm going to try using the end mill to straighten the hole, then ream. At least I was in the ball park 120 sfm .0015 chip load for the reamer.
  2. Any special tricks to reaming this material? So far the material has been aged. I need 6 holes two inches deep through @.495 dia. The blank for this material is 600 bucks so I don't want to screw this up. Thanks for any help.
  3. I'm trying to tap 300m (modified 4340) 1/2 20, I did not see it in the library. Here comes my dumb question, what do you mean by power tap? Rigid tap?
  4. I've been programming lathes for awhile, but have just recently started with mills, anyway my question is, where can i find a good guideline for tapping, speeds and feeds ect. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I see now, I wasn't selecting the point icon as well as the break icon. Thanks.
  6. Is there a way to pick the center of the line segment without having to do the math? Is there a switch that needs to be turned on, so when you move the cursor over it, it lights up? I'm using X lathe level 1 no solids. Thanks for your help.
  7. Ok, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong..I selected all surfaces and now there are no points but some of the pofile is missing.
  8. Ok, I just tried that, but now I don't have the whole profile of the part. The points however are gone.
  9. I'm not sure about the wire frame, I import the part as trimmed surfaces and edge curves from solidworks and has always worked in ver. 9. I have MCX MR1 lathe level 1. Thanks for your help in advance.
  10. I thought that as well until I sliced a simple tube with just a chamfer on o.d. and i.d. and there are points at the begining and end of each chamfer.
  11. Sorry, it's surfaces, and I never had this problem in ver. 9.
  12. It creates a point at every endpoint.
  13. Is there a way to turn off the points that are created when you slice a part in X? I know you can delete all points, but it would be nice not to have to.
  14. Anytime I try to backplot in Cimco edit now I get an error mesg. and it shuts down.
  15. Just curious, but is this Tony, Capitain of Wind River?
