Thanks guys, the first part we did the holes walked on us using carbide drill and carbide tipped reamer. I think I'm going to try using the end mill to straighten the hole, then ream. At least I was in the ball park 120 sfm .0015 chip load for the reamer.
Any special tricks to reaming this material? So far the material has been aged. I need 6 holes two inches deep through @.495 dia. The blank for this material is 600 bucks so I don't want to screw this up. Thanks for any help.
I've been programming lathes for awhile, but have just recently started with mills, anyway my question is, where can i find a good guideline for tapping, speeds and feeds ect. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Is there a way to pick the center of the line segment without having to do the math? Is there a switch that needs to be turned on, so when you move the cursor over it, it lights up? I'm using X lathe level 1 no solids. Thanks for your help.
I'm not sure about the wire frame, I import the part as trimmed surfaces and edge curves from solidworks and has always worked in ver. 9.
I have MCX MR1 lathe level 1. Thanks for your help in advance.
Is there a way to turn off the points that are created when you slice a part in X? I know you can delete all points, but it would be nice not to have to.
Is there a way to save a part as a solidworks file so that it can be manipulated, then brought back into X? I noticed there are autocad, parasolid, and catia, but no solidworks. If so, am I limited because I have only lathe level 1?
I had the same problem, until they sent me a usb hasp. Have been problem free(knock on wood) for almost a week. Until then, you can try just reninstalling the hasp drivers.
So I'm playing around in X trying to get a feel for it, and it says your sim has become disconnected, you'll have one chance to save your work, then it shuts down. I've tried to log back on and it says hasp not found. Has anyone else run into a problem with their parallel sim? I disconected the printer and it worked for a few minutes then the same problem.
I just recieved my copy of X(thanks Charles),and I wanted to know if the system requirements are just a recommendation or are there installation or graphics problems with slightly slower models?
I have 1.6 Ghz and only 256 RAM. If so, maybe I can get a new comp out of the deal.
What,no Steelers fans? I guess I shall have to throw my 2 cents in. GO STEELERS!!!
They have a tough game this week, but I can't see it being any harder than last week. I think the Jets will beat the Raiders.
Kevin, just flood it. If you have fans in the shop use them to vent it. We hold +-.0004 all the time for bearing dia. Lite cuts are not a problem if everthing is flooded. If you cut it dry, part will shrink .001 or .002. It gets kind of messy so keep a 5 gallon bucket of water to dip it in afterwards, if it will fit.
We run mag castings all the time, lathe and mill, and don't have any problems with fires if we keep it flooded. Light cuts, dwell, these are bad. Also by flooding the part the dimensions don't change radically like dry cutting. It's really a piece of cake
