Now that you mention that we checked it and it is only one machine that will post those numbers (something changed ,but it is probably our old and mangled post that is the real culprit). The machine def has been changed to get the home numbers from the machine def rather than the operations manager and it looks good. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Since updating to MU3 we have seen something odd. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this. When creating a toolpath let's say a 2d contour I go through the motions step by step, and I usually don't need to check/change the home position. An operator comes up and says what's going on - it wanted to go Z-10.75. It was a short tool and errored out prior to crashing. Now I noticed that the home position changes to numbers from I don't know where. They do not match the previous toolpath or the settings in the machine def. Does anyone know where the numbers are coming from and what I can do about it?
I have had an ok time adding and removing things to the setup sheets, but I would like to be able to not get the operation info pages with the rest of the report. I would like only the front page and tool list. Does anyone know how I can do this?
I am having trouble opening the NetHook 2.0 Reference guide. Anyone else have this problem? I would like more info on the MachineDefManager Class if I can get it.
As simple as it may seem I am having trouble getting the arguments right for runpost(). The help file shows the following:Bool RunPost(
Integer (Input: operation ID #),
String (Input: name of file to save NC data in),
Bool (Input: put file into Editor after posting?)
)
Where do I find the operation ID #. I know the name, but it is not always the same. The last argument I am going to set as false as I do not want to open the editor.
newchsmcam - if your tool radius is larger than the geometry radius the tool does not fit in the arc. Optimize eliminates the arc from posting. If it posted you would get an error. The help file can probably do a better job explaining it than I can.
MattMj you pointed us in the right direction - thank you. I am not worried about what folder the posts go. We did find that when an old program had optimize off in an operation when it was brought into X4 and posted (control def had optimize on) it posted with whatever the operation had in X3. Meaning that if optimize was off in the operation in X3, but posted in X4 optimize was still off. I think this was what you were getting at. The other consideration is that we do not use centerline cutter comp.
After updating to X4 it seems that even when I turn optimize on in the control definition it is not working. Do I need to change something else to get it to work?
I have had the same problem exactly. If anyone knows the fix please reply. I am using NVIDIA Quadro4 980 XGL graphics. I am also having problems after I save and restart mastercam and clean operations turn dirty and some get locked telling me that I have a repaired NCI.
Thank you for the replies. We are working around it currently, but to have more than 10 tool colors would work very nicely and eliminate some error. Sometimes when the paths are transformed in an array it will skip a surface it should be cutting and on the next one it will cut it.
The problem is that we are not going off of a 3d model supplied from the customer. We are taking multiple 2d surfaces and setting them at different depths that are very close to each other. Aside from creating a complex model...
Is there a way to get more tool colors while in verify? I mean something like 15 different colors or so instead of 10. Need to differentiate between more than 10 very close surfaces to ensure they were cut.

If I use the Cimco editor it opens up and all colors are black. I change the settings to default and no problem, but the setting will not stay. All I really need is the backgound setting to stay white. Has anyone experienced this or know how to fix it?
