most of the time i have this issue i create new geometry by creating line endpoint or create arc 3 points.another option would be to convert nurbs spline i also think would work.

when you activate backplot,color loop is the first button in the row of buttons.hover your mouse over the buttons and it will tell you.i dont have mastercam in front of me at the moment but i just used this function the other day.its in the row of buttons that show dispay tool,display rapid moves etc.there is no config setting for it.

I use old programs that ive already edited the speeds, feeds and open the tool manager within that file, then add the tools from that file to my new library.I have 3 different tool libraries,1 for graphite,1 for hardmilling,and 1 for ruffing.Anytime i configure a new tool i just open the tool manager and save the new tool into the appropriate tool lib.

i have used the x3 setup sheet option a few times and it is extremely slow as if its crunching a toolpath.The setup option im using is GUI.Is there any way to speed up this process because it is taking a very considerable amount of time versus x2.

It should be noted however that mastercam will remember the previous setting for a toolpath the next time you use that particular toolpath within that same file.

Go to settings then control definition,then operation defaults way at the bottom left of the screen then you can open up the parameters for any of the toolpaths you want to change.You can set your rapid plane,filter,etc.when you are done making changes be sure to check save to defaults button before exiting.

I had an issue similar to this with editing common parameters.It appears like its not taking effect but after i tried it then saved the file and closed it out,then reopened the file it would take effect.It appears that the graphics just arent updating after making changes.

When doing a new install do you recommend doing a side by side and using the file migration utility?Normally i uninstall then rename the mcamx folder to mcamxold then install the new version into new mcamx folder then just copy or convert my customized files into these folders only with this x3 install it gave me several errors until i used the default install files.Should be noted that i used a registry cleaner after uninstalling x2 to clean out outdated registry entries.

i recently installed x3 by uninstalling x2mr2 then rename folder then install x3.the issue i had was trying to import my customized operation default files into x3 and also importing my toolbar.toolbar was no biggie,just recreate a new one but operation defaults kinda suck resetting everything.i tried to copy/paste x2 file into x3,tried file import directory from x2 to x3,the only way i could get it to work correctly without an error was to use x3 original default files and x3 mtb toolbar file. Can somebody tell me the proper way to do this.should be added that i have done it this way every time ive upgraded ever maintenace release without any errors so i dunno what the deal is this time around.

hey thanks 1 master i guess i never tried to save the file after renumbering as it didnt seem like it was sorking correctly but i tried your method today and yeah it worked..go figure.thanks for the tip

i recently had an issue where i tried to renumber tools in the operation manager but it does not renumber them.I am using x3 and i used the file import to import my mmd,gmd files and manually copied the control def files.Should i copy my original x2 files into x3 cnc machine folder without converting them?

I fixed this issue by changing the config setting under the verify settings tab and check disable hardware accelerator.

thanks i will try that,i have tried disabling hardware acceleration in verify settings and it kinda helped but still has issues.I thought perhaps it was something with my video card not set correct.

i recently made the switch from x2 to x3 and have been having issues with pre selection and auto-highlight not working after backplotting a toolpath, and other backplot issues.Anybody else notice these issue or aware of a fix?
