I program op by op when possible, but, since I'm the only one here that runs my machine and the only one here who uses MC, sometimes I have to program the entire part. That's why this forum is so important to me. I can usually answer any questions by doing a search or two. Everyone else here progams in Mazatrol and none of them has ever programmed using Gcode.

I'm 33 yrs old.Have been a machinist for 12 yrs. I have only been using MC since version7.

I now think about the stories I will tell my 2 yr old and 4yr old in years to come abvout their uncle and their 3 cousins serving during this crisis.Perhaps those stories will not be as profound or heroic as the things I have been told, but because there are men and women who have and are now serving this country, I know that they will grow up in a wonderful FREE country . Chris, Usually, on anything tight we only do this on the first piece and then adjust accordingly for tool wear after that.To do this on each part,in my opinion, is a waste of time. Just my $.02

Jeff, It's nice to hear a Michigan fan that feels like I do,a lifetime buckeyes fan.Once the bowl games start it's GO BIG TEN.The PAC-10 is almost a mid-major conference,1 pretty good team,and alot of teams with inflated records.The big ten and the big 12 are year in and year out 2 of the toughest in the country, the others have good teams,even the best team from time to time, but not the consistentcy of the big ten or big 12. We use older Servo machines with an old Hewlett/Packard control(which isn't made anymore).They can be found relatively easy and they're not real expensive. We use them mostly for drilling very small holes,(.018 to .05 in diameter) in A6 tool steel and they work really well.As for accuracy,our normal apllication can have as many as 150 holes over 8.125 inches were there may only be .005 land between holes.Our tolerances for the distance between each hole and over the whole length is +/- .002/.005".
