I program in IPR mainly due to the fact that that's how I learned to program on my first CNC job. When I started with my current shop I learned to program a Mazatrol M2 control that also uses IPR, I guess I'm just more comfortable with it and I feel like I have more 'control' of the tool.
99% of my work is mill.

I generally run all of my tools and operations in IPR.We run alot of indexable tools and I've always liked IPR better for controlling chip load for each tooth.
Is there any way to get MC to use feed per rev
instead of inches per minute? I've tried changing the defaults for commonly used tools but they post out to a feedrate of zero.
As of right now, I change all of my feeds in the editor, but this can get pretty time
consuming.Running V9.0 SP1. Thanks
Our engineers always save in DWG format.
I often have problems with incomplete geometry in this format, usually I'll have them convert it to IGES or DXF and this solves the problem.I don't know if this will help solve your problem but trying some of the different file types available in Autocad 2000 may help.I mostly use trial by error but perhaps someone has a tried and true method.
My father was a machinist in a union shop for 44yrs before he retired. He's always said,"I started there when the union was necessary, and I was there to see it degrade into what it is today".He ran the newest machines as they got them starting with NC tape machines to 2 pallet Mori-Seiki's right before he retired.I'm obviously bias, but I believe the union helped hold back a very smart man from achieving all that he could.I worked there right out of apprenticeship and only lasted 1 1/2yrs.Don't out-produce or make waves cuz they'll make life pretty hard for you.I must add though that I was raised thanks to a union wage, and even though we were not rich by any standard, we never lacked anything we needed either.Good and bad, just like everything else.

Nothing was meant negatively.Honestly wondering if this class was offered at our reseller. With things the way they are at my company right now they may spring for a class but only if didn't require me traveling. They did let us upgrade recently though
Yes, that's what I tried after my first post and it really cut the editing down.I really think I'm going to take Christian's advice and have my reseller edit my post.
thanks
I have a small slot that is cut on a 1.50 radius.
The slot is .34 wide and .86 long and I am using a
.25 carbide rougher with a pocket toolpath.When I
edit the nci to include cutter comp it puts the comp in front of a G3 line which the machine will not allow. Can I alter the post to avoid this?I am using 7.2 and unfortunately, no chance of updating. thanks
