  1. The dealer checked this out not too long after we bought the machine, but said this was normal.I guess it's not too big a deal but I have to put M0's in after all my roughing ops and make sure she's not locked in there, that's a pain in the ***.Thanks for everyone's suggestions.
  2. Mark, thanks that was the thread. As far as wear on the spindle and tool holders, everything looks to be in good shape and we've had this problem since the machine was brand new.
  3. Thanks, James.I'll try mixing a little thinner. I wish I had a maintenance man.
  4. The toolholder usually isn't warm and the spindle isn't warm however, generally when I have this problem it's when I use through-the-spindle coolant, so it's hard to tell.
  5. Does anyone else have problems with their Cinncinati's 40 tapers sticking in the spindle after roughing?I thought this was brought up in a recent thread but I've had no luck searching for it.Machine is an Arrow1000
  6. C, What control will you be running this on?
  7. A funny thing happened last year before my football team's playoff semi-final game.My father, a coach for the last 40yrs and a notorious butcher of the english language, gave an emotional , inspiring speech to the team before the game. With every young man in the locker room hanging on his every word, he finished up with a rousing,"You can do it, now go out there and lick their butts!"....We won the game 22-6
  8. Ruffkut, did you check out that site? [ 10-25-2002, 02:08 PM: Message edited by: STEELTHOM62 ]
  9. Yes.Thanks for deciphering 'STEELTHOMspeak' for Ruffcut I guess I wasn't to clear. I absolutely love these holders. [ 10-25-2002, 02:06 PM: Message edited by: STEELTHOM62 ]
  10. Actually,Lyndex makes special holders for rigid tapping(so do others,but....).If I wasn't so inept at this, I would provide you with a link to their website, but you'll have to type it yourself . www.lyndex.com click on tapping holders and you can download their catalog section for these. They're not regular collets per say , that's why I refer to them as adaptors. You'll love how easy it is to change taps. Ooooh, so that's how you do it [ 10-25-2002, 01:53 PM: Message edited by: STEELTHOM62 ]
  11. I'm not sure of the model name/number but they're the rigid(Bilz type)holders(no tension / compression). They use Lyndex tap adaptors. We have 3 different size holders and adaptors from 1/4" to 1.25" .I'll check on the actual model no. 12. I rigid tap everything on our Arrow1000.I never had a problem, even when re-entering a hole to take the tap depth deeper a few times. We use all Lyndex holders, they're pricey but worth every penny. G84.1 or nothing!
  13. All I know is that i went from 40hrs a week(for the last 1 1/2yrs) to 56hrs all of the sudden, without warning. I'm not complaining though, that's how you make your money in manufacturing in my neck of the woods.
  14. I recently contracted a virus on my windows based A2100.Luckily our network guy found it and got rid of it before it 'infected' anything.I still prefer my machine on the network though, because of the flexability it gives me to manage my progam files.
  15. Jack, It's nice to know there is someone else that sees the logic in IPR.Mazaks got one right there. Our 2 VQC's have about 3 broken holders each. By the way great post!
  16. We have 2 of these machines.Unfortunately,as of now they are not programmed with MC,they are programmed conversationally I don't know why.My boss has 2 of these in his own shop and got his manuals off ebay.He says he comes across them on there alot.
  17. Congrats! And I offer you this wish..... "May your child not grow up to be a 'NURB'" Sorry, had to say it
  18. Sorry [ 10-10-2002, 11:45 AM: Message edited by: STEELTHOM62 ]
  19. As you have the part drawn now, it's all one surface, perhaps if you made each sidewall and the bottom seperate surfaces, you could machine the sidewalls and call out the bottom as a check surface and vice versa. You could use a flowline on the sides and, after setting up some containment geometry you could finish the bottom with a surface rough pocket toolpath. 20. Gosh your fast, James [ 10-09-2002, 10:33 AM: Message edited by: STEELTHOM62 ]
  21. There is an icon on the top tool bar in the Cimco editor for removing block numbers or you can just hit cntrl+G.
  22. Since we got our seat of MC 4 yrs ago, we've returned our investment several times over, however, the one part that we actually had in mind(a flow cavity for rubber extrusion that 'ramps' up from a 2" depth to a 1/2" depth, part of the way on a radius and the rest of the way straight),we've only been able to cut with straight lines.I've been told that not even Metacut will create the helical toolpath required to cut this. The polishing required to get these lines out by hand is minimal, though.
  23. yeah! The testosteronometer on my computer is off the charts
  24. Congratulations!!! My 2yr old son is Luke too. Also a 4yr old daughter and believe me the boy has been way way easier(I,m told thats especially true when they're teens)
  25. May God bless all Americans on this day and every day to come, and please remember all of our military everywhere in the world. My brother and his three kids are all serving, he and his oldest are reserves and his 2 youngest are in the middle east, I'm proud of them and all of our armed forces and especially my country.
